Your pack is an extremely durable product built for
years of use and abuse. However, some basic procedures
will ensure that your pack holds up optimally.
• After each trip be sure to clean out your pack
thoroughly.
• If it’s wet, hang it to dry.
• Loosen all the straps.
• Wash your pack every now and then. (Do not
immerse travel packs with our High Road
Wheeled Chassis.)

Suspension
A-Frame Ski Carry
Dual, lower reinforced ski carry
loops and upper reinforced V-carry
straps combine for A-frame style
ski carry. A Slip tails through lower
loops tips up, B clip the upper
V-carry straps around the bindings
of the skis, re-engage buckle and
tension straps for stable ski carry.
Reverse to remove.
Diagonal Ski Carry
Suspension systems consist
of an HDPE framesheet,
LightWire peripheral
alloy frame (38, 30 only),
thermo-sculpted SnowShed
backpanel and a fixed, EVA
foam padded hipbelt and
harness for the utmost
in comfort, carry and
performance.
Use upper V-carry straps
and the lower reinforced
ski carry straps to carry skis
diagonally to either the

right or left side. A Slide
tails into position beneath
the lower reinforced ski
carry strap and secure by
tensioning the nylon

webbing. B Unclip the top
V-carry strap and place
end of skis beneath the
strap, re-clipping the buckle and securing with tension
over the binding area. Reverse to remove.

SnowShed Backpanel
The thermo-sculpted SnowShed
backpanel is designed to shed
snow, provide ventilation and
deliver an outstanding pack-tobody
interface.
ErgoPull Hipbelt
Kode 30: Backpanel Entry/Access
The Kode 30 offers both
backpanel access to your
hydration sleeve and dry
pocket as well as panel
load access to your avy
gear compartment. For
backpanel entry, unclip
the load lifter straps
at the top of the harness to gain access to the dual
zipper pulls. For panel load access to the snow tool
compartment, unclip the top V-carry straps to gain
access to the panel load zipper pulls.
Vertical Board Carry
Using the upper reinforced
V-carry straps with the
lower reinforced carry straps
you can carry snowboards,

skis or snowshoes. A Using

beneath the bottom carry
straps and secure by reconnecting
upper and lower quick release buckles and
tensioning strap. Reverse to remove.
Wet/Dry Gear Division
Every Kode Series pack
features internal wet
avy/dry gear division
with varying access
between models. One
compartment contains
an avy gear pocket with
shovel/probe/tools
sleeves, while a separate compartment accommodates
extra clothing and other dry gear.
Micro-Fleece Goggle Pocket
Each Kode Series pack
features an internal, sewn-in
microfleece goggle pocket to
keep your eyewear scratch free
and at the ready.
Hipbelt Pockets
All Kode Series packs
come equipped with
dual, articulated zipper
hipbelt pockets designed
for one hand operation
and easy access to
essentials.
Ice Tool Carry
A single tool loop works with
the upper V-carry straps to
provide secure ice tool carry.
All Kode Series packs use
our exclusive ErgoPull
hipbelt design. To operate
the ErgoPull , loosen the
webbing enough so you can
connect the center buckle.
Then grasp the loose ends
of the webbing on either
side, and pull in and across evenly with both hands at
the same time.

Explained
Kode 38: Backpanel Access
The Kode 38 offers both
backpanel access to your
hydration sleeve and dry
pocket as well as top load
access to your avy gear
compartment. For backpanel
entry, unclip the load lifter
straps at the top of the
harness to gain access to the
dual zipper pulls. For top
access, unclip the top pocket
retention straps to flip back
the top pocket and access through the skirt collar.
Kode 30: Helmet Carry
The Kode 30 features a stowable
helmet carry system. To use: A

Unzip the top slash compartment
containing the helmet cap and
extend from pocket. B Locate
the helmet icon at the top of
the pack and click in helmet
chinstrap. C Pull helmet cap

over helmet and engage two

the pack. Reverse to remove.
HydraForm Reservoir
Add an Osprey HydraForm
2 or 3 liter hydration reservoir
to your pack for stable,
efficient, on-the-go water
management. For more

Bungee Tie Zipper Pull
A bungee zipper pull at the
top of the pack is designed to
secure longer probes or shovel
handles that may extend from
the snow tool pocket (Kode 30,
22). Wrap the bungee around the
object and secure the hook to
the traditional zipper pull.
Hydration
An internal sewn-in hydration
sleeve with reservoir hanger
and a fully insulated, dual
zippered harness router with
hypo-allergenic stretch garage
provides for hassle- and ice-free
hydration.
Kode 38: Top Load Helmet Carry
The Kode 38 features an
expandable top pocket helmet
carry system with sewn-in
micro-fleece goggle pocket.
The bottom zipper on the rear
of the top pocket gains you
access to the main helmet
compartment and goggle
pocket. The top zipper contains
a bellows feature and can be
unzipped to create more space to accommodate larger
sized helmets.

zippered panel access to
both the avy gear pocket,
and the hydration/dry
gear compartment as
well as a top zippered
slash pocket.
