Energy Ministers agreed <strong>the</strong> importance of developing offshore electricity<br />
infrastructure.<br />

EWEA’s public <strong>debate</strong> on a 30% emission reduction target took place with<br />
Commissioner Hedegaard.<br />

The European Commission published: ‘Energy “Energy infrastructure priorities<br />
for 2020 and beyond’. beyond”. EWEA welcomed this but stressed <strong>the</strong> need for<br />
ambitious legislative proposals.<br />

EWEA’s GRIDS 2010 event was held. EWEA released a joint statement<br />
with ENTSO-E and o<strong>the</strong>rs stressing <strong>the</strong> urgency of grid investments.<br />

EWEA published ‘<strong>Powering</strong> Europe’, arguing <strong>the</strong>re are no major technical<br />
barriers – but major economic benefits - to integrating lots of wind <strong>energy</strong><br />
into Europe’s grid.<br />

North Seas countries ministers agreed to develop an offshore electricity<br />
grid and remove barriers to electricity trade. This was welcomed as a major<br />
step forwards by EWEA.<br />
