Turkish Petroleum, like all the other oil
companies, had to suspend its activities in
Libya because of the political unrest started in
the early of 2011. We care about to reinitiate
our activities by the end of September, 2011,
that suspended in this hard period Libya
experienced.
Our Corporate supports the very best
utilization of the opportunities that our
geography offers us and involved in Trans
Anatolia Pipeline Project (TANAP) that will
transport Azeri gas to Europe through Turkey
in this context. As we emphasize always, we
have undertaken another mission of being
the energy bridge between the countries with
rich reserves and Europe countries with high
consumption rate.
Technology of our sector moves forward at a
dazzling pace. Our Corporate, following the
developments in energy sector closely, is
taking the necessary steps without any delay.
In order to compete with global companies,
our Corporate has to renew itself constantly.
In this era, “Information” and “Communication”
have become the most important capital of oil
companies as well as all other companies.
By assembling all data processes in a
modern building, a system is being installed
in our Corporate that will both increase the
information security and provide easy and
instant access to the users who needs it.

activities with unconventional methods.
Turkish Petroleum, that broke new grounds in
Turkey, conducts its activities to increase the
capacity of Kuzey Marmara and Değirmenköy
Natural Gas Storage Facilities up to nearly 3.0
billion m³ gradually and withdrawal capacity
to 50 million m³. The activities of increasing
the storage and withdrawal capacity are
so crucial for our energy supply security,
the issue that we emphasize anytime,
anywhere.
We believe that a sustainable development
can only be achieved through environment
conscience and social responsibility and we
are aware of our responsibilities about this
subject. We will continue our activities in the
framework of environmental friendly policy
together with both statuary obligations and
environmental conscious we raised in our
staff.
Turkish Petroleum, since its establishment
in 1954, has been a company that profits
every year. Both previous and current
staff of our Corporate value TPAO to
reach its target and commit themselves
to TPAO. These are the main components
of constituting such a great success. I put
my faith in maintaining this success also
in the following years.

With shale gas production method,
production in USA has increased and the
gas prices decreased significantly because
of the competition in here. Together with this
changeover method, it is expected that gas
prices in the market will change substantially.
It is known that our country has significant
potential for shale gas production.
Our energy dependency can be decreased
if shale gas production method would be
successful. This would both be a great step
for our supply security and decrease the
heavy energy bill on our economy. In this
scope, we signed exploration and production
agreements with Transatlantic in 2010 and
