COVER STORY
POLICE
EBA
2011
It is clear the government
wants to keep up the
circus act and continue
to play with police pay
and livelihoods.
We know it’s time the circus moves on and for
Baillieu to deliver what he promised – a fair
and reasonable EB outcome – but obviously he
needs some encouragement. This is why we are
set to commence our Protected Industrial Action
for a better pay deal for all our members.
getting set for protected
Industrial
aCtion
Q&A
Will these actions impact on
service delivery?
These industrial action
measures are designed, as
much as possible, to impact
on government and Command
and not on the community we
proudly serve. We do not want
to impact on the health, welfare
or safety of the community
under any circumstances.
For how long will the
protected industrial
action go?
We need to be prepared to take
these protected actions for as
long as it takes to achieve a fair
and reasonable outcome. Once
they commence they should
continue until you receive advice
from the Association.
Will you keep me updated
during this period?
The Police Association will
keep members updated on
the progress of negotiations
as regularly as possible while
members are taking protected
industrial action. While these
actions are being implemented,
members should check our
website www.tpav.org.au –
daily for updates.
What should we do if we feel
targeted or pressured not to
take part in these actions?
If you feel pressured during
this period by another person
in the workplace because
you are implementing these
industrial actions, please seek
immediate assistance from your
Association delegate.
To be successful, we will all need
to be prepared to support each
other, including anyone made
to feel pressured because they
are taking action. It’s up to all
of us to stick together. If any
individual is being targeted,
we are all being targeted!
What will happen if my
pay is threatened to be
docked for taking protected
industrial action?
You cannot be docked for taking
protected industrial action as
