Pee Wee Basketball<br />

This class introduces youngsters to the rules<br />

and fundamentals <strong>of</strong> basketball. Participants<br />

will develop basic skills <strong>of</strong> dribbling and<br />

shooting through drills and games with<br />

smaller basketballs and a lower hoop along<br />

with learning about teamwork.<br />

Basketball Tournament<br />

Grab a few friends and join in on this 2 on 2<br />

Spring Break Basketball Tournament. In this<br />

double elimination tournament teams will be<br />

seeded blind. Boys and Girls divisions will be<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered. No Co-Ed teams. Prizes will be<br />

awarded to top two teams. Games will be 15<br />

minutes long, played to 11 points.<br />

Pre-registration is required.<br />

Winter Kindergarten Basketball League<br />

Your kids will be playing like a pro in no time with this six-game season. Teams will<br />

practice for about 28 minutes, followed by a 32 minute game with another team on the<br />

same day. Volunteer coaches are needed to ensure the success <strong>of</strong> the program. Please<br />

indicate child's shirt size during registration for his/her shirt. Fee includes team shirt,<br />

participation award, picture package, and game <strong>of</strong>ficial. Each team will play four eight<br />

minute quarters with running clock. Substitutions will be allowed at the four minute<br />

mark at each quarter.<br />

Half Pint Hoopsters<br />

This instructional program teaches children the fundamentals <strong>of</strong> basketball through<br />

various fun drills and games. Participants will practice and improve on dribbling,<br />

passing, shooting, and more, using smaller basketballs and a lower hoop.<br />

Winter Basketball League<br />

This youth basketball league, in conjunction with <strong>Palos</strong> Heights Recreation Department, and Worth <strong>Park</strong> District, will emphasize play while<br />

developing skills. Each child will have one practice and play at least half a game each week while learning the value <strong>of</strong> teamwork. Volunteer<br />

coaches will be needed for this blind draft league and only sibling requests are taken for same team. Maximum <strong>of</strong> two coaches per team. Fee<br />

includes team shirt, participation award, basic photo package, end <strong>of</strong> season party for players, <strong>of</strong>ficials and outside facility rentals. Team<br />

practices are held once a week, Tuesday-Friday depending on coach availability. Parents who volunteer as a coach will receive an account<br />

credit at the end <strong>of</strong> the basketball season. Coaches will be expected to participate in the player evaluations; coaches will evaluate players and<br />

also draft their teams. There will be a coaches meeting prior to the season starting. Player evaluations will be conducted by coaches on<br />

Saturday, December 1. In an effort to better form teams players are strongly encouraged to attend the evaluation day. There will be a $20<br />

charge for participants that drop once the draft has been completed along with any costs incurred for uniform.<br />
