Magnolia Manor celebrates the true meaning of Christmas!

“Thank You”, The Way To Begin
My wife, Jacki, is a teacher in an
elementary school. She recently had
foot surgery and returned to school.
Everyone was willing to help her as
she hobbled with her foot. Once she
was carrying a couple of boxes and
hobbling up the hall. A fifth grade
teacher drafted a couple of boys to
carry the boxes to Jacki’s room. As
they walked to Jacki’s room, she asked
them this question, “What one thing
do you want most for Christmas?”
One of the boys answered quickly
concerning an electronic toy. The
other boy said, “Mrs. Beasley, I don’t
really need anything, but I am going
to be really grateful for whatever I
get.” Jacki told him how proud of
him she was for his attitude.
As we begin the New Year, what will
be our attitude? Will we rush into new
adventures, new challenges, new routines
without the thought of what we have
been able to accomplish and without
a sense of gratitude? Psalm 107 begins
with the words, “O give thanks to the
Lord, for He is good; for his steadfast
love endures forever.” Following these
words are several acknowledgements
of how the Lord had delivered persons
from the difficulties of life. The psalmist
is stopping to glance back with gratitude
so that he may go forth with assurance.
I am reminded of a saying I saw on
the blackboard in a High School
classroom, “Attitude, not aptitude,
determines altitude”.
The attitude here at Magnolia
Manor is one of gratitude for those
individuals, congregations, sponsors,
and foundations who faithfully give
in support of the ministry for older
adults in our communities in South
Georgia. Through the partnership of
these generous and gracious donors,
we have assurance that the promise
of the League of the Good Samaritan
will continue. We are sure the Staff
will continue to practice Servant
Leadership, offering the best of care
for our residents. We are thankful for
compassionate staff, strong leaders,
and generous donors who make
Magnolia Manor a unique retirement
community.
