N - Medzinárodný maratón mieru, Košice

Som hrdý na košický maratón. Už roky sa ho zúčastňujem ako zanietený divák. Obdivujem
všetkých bežcov, ktorí dokážu prekonať krízu v boji s dlhou traťou, súpermi i vlastnou únavou
a dosiahnúť vytúžený cieľ.
I’m proud of the Košice Marathon. For years now I’ve been taking part as an enthusiastic spectator.
I admire all the runners who manage to overcome the crisis in their struggle with that long course, battling
against their own tiredness, and who reach the longed-for finishing-line.

Najstarší vo svete je bostonský maratón, počtom účastníkov vedie maratón
v New Yorku. Košický je druhý najstarší. Hostil veľké maratónske mená a okúzľuje
nás svojim priateľským prostredím. Výrazne obohatil maratónsku históriu.
The Boston Marathon is the oldest, and the New York Marathon is first
for number of participants. Košice is the second oldest, it played host to some great
marathon names, and it enchants us with its friendly atmosphere. It has quite simply
enriched marathon history.

Nikdy nezabudnem na svoj strhujúci súboj s američanom Edelenom. Som hrdý, že som trikrát zvíťazil
na Medzinárodnom maratóne mieru.
One of the nicest memories of my sporting career comes from when I took part in the Marathon in
Košice. I’ll never forget my nail-biting contest with Edelen. I’m proud to have won three times at the Košice
Peace Marathon.
