MQD Page 14 (Continued from page 13) Next ASQ-MQD Meeting The next ASQ-MQD meeting will be moved from Wednesday, July 28 to Monday, July 26 at 4:00pm ET. This will be held at NCSLI’s annual conference in Providence, Rhode Island. Dilip will forward the meeting room information. Chris and Jay are not attending NCSLI this year. Graeme will attend 2010 NCSLI conference and may be able to do booth duty. CCT Exam Chris: Asked how many people are signed up for June 4 CCT exam. Jay: Heather & Jay were ineligible to participate in last weekend’s CCT Item Review Workshop at ASQ (because of their participation in the Item Writing Workshop). Jay to contact ASQ for workshop update. Jay: Michael Byrnes, from ASQ, gave presentation on ASQ certification process to NCSLI-Madison (Wisconsin) section meeting on May 14th, 2010. Dilip: All 3 examinees have passed, who took CCT exam at Measurement Science Conference (MSC) in March 2010. Dilip: Gave CCT workshop to 16 people at NASA-JPL (Jet Propulsion Lab). Those in participation are slated to take the CCT exam on July 28. New Business: Chris: Next burning project for division – MQD to pursue another initiative (Jay will update 2010/11 budget to reflect this expense) Dilip: Would like to pursue Metrology Handbook update Metrology Multi-media DVD Jay: Gave away 26 copies of multi-media DVD at NCSLI-Madison meeting. Dilip: Elias took 10 copies of DVD from WCQI to distribute. Jay: Giving presentation to NCSLI-Twin Cities (Minnesota) & will also take DVDs for distribution. Graeme: Spoke about CCT at NCSLI-Oak Ridge, Tennessee last week and distributed a ‘large number’ of DVDs. (Editor’s note: here is Graeme’s report…) I was a speaker at a meeting of the NCSLI Tennessee Section, held at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. I was asked to speak about the ASQ CCT program on behalf of Jay Bucher, The CCT program chair, and as part of that presentation I also gave a lot of background about ASQ Certifications and how they are developed. The presentation was very well received, and I found out that there were a number of people who came to the meeting only for that portion. (Editor’s note: MQD is the sponsor for the CCT) CCT Logo Graeme: Announced that on the ASQ website – membership page, there is a link to download a logo for each of the ASQ certifications. Each logo is also branded with the year. Jay: Has the logo on his website (without the year). He also offers discounts on his presentations to CCT recipients, as well as NCSLI members. Voice of Customer Survey Elias is still formulating questions for Voice of Customer Survey. July was the month to send out survey...hope not too late for action plans in upcoming QMP. IF the board prefers, could run survey in June for review in July? Timeline is tight but hope to get more that 10% feedback. Will send survey to board for final approval. Elias asks what incentives can be offered to entice responses to surveys, because of low turnout. Elias will distribute the survey question to the MQD Board for input. MQD Board members are ineligible for prizes. Dilip asks MQD members if they’re receiving “The Standard” newsletter. Most reply that yes they are and that they’re downloading it from the ASQ website. World Metrology Day Jay spoke with a producer from the Rachel Maddow Show for show segment on World Metrology Day (May 20, 2010).
