Arleston remembers<br />

Arleston Memories Group held a<br />

World War I exhibition last month<br />

at the Watling Community Centre<br />

in Arleston.<br />

<strong>News</strong> opened the event and<br />

commended the group on<br />

their hard work in organising<br />

such an event. He also said<br />

he was encouraged by the<br />

amount of similar local history<br />

groups that have started<br />

up over the years <strong>Wrekin</strong><br />

<strong>News</strong> has been bringing local<br />

stories to its readers.<br />

Phil Fairclough spoke<br />

about war memorials across<br />

the district and Phil Morris<br />

later congratulated the<br />

group on a very interesting<br />

exhibition that focussed on<br />

World War I and specifically<br />

the role Arleston played in<br />

the war.<br />

A varied exhibition of<br />

memorabilia was available<br />

throughout the day for visitors<br />

to see and the ladies of<br />

the group provided refreshments.<br />
