DIRECTORY INFORMATION<br />
Directory information is information contained in an education record <strong>of</strong> a student<br />
that generally would not be considered harmful or an invasion <strong>of</strong> privacy if<br />
disclosed. It includes, but is not limited to: <strong>the</strong> student's name; student’s address;<br />
telephone listing; electronic mail address; photograph; date and place <strong>of</strong><br />
birth; major f eld <strong>of</strong> study; dates <strong>of</strong> attendance; classif cation; enrollment status<br />
(undergraduate or graduate, full-time or part-time); participation in <strong>of</strong>f cially recognized<br />
activities and sports; weight and height <strong>of</strong> members <strong>of</strong> athletic teams;<br />
degrees, honors, and/or awards received; and previous education agency or<br />
institution attended.<br />
Information that can never be identif ed as directory information are a student’s<br />
Social Security number (SNN); student identif cation number (SID); race and<br />
ethnicity; gender; religious preference; country <strong>of</strong> citizenship; grades and grade<br />
point average; class schedule; disciplinary actions; and biometric record (for example,<br />
f ngerprints).<br />
DISCLOSURE WITHOUT CONSENT<br />
Please note that <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> may be permitted or required to release educational<br />
records without a student’s consent under <strong>the</strong> following conditions: school <strong>of</strong>f cials<br />
with legitimate educational interest; o<strong>the</strong>r schools to which a student is transfering;<br />
specif ed <strong>of</strong>f cials for audit or evaluation purposes; appropriate parties in connection<br />
with f nancial aid to a student; to local <strong>of</strong>f cials or authorities pursuant to specif c<br />
law regarding <strong>the</strong> juvenile justice system; organization conducting certain studies for<br />
or on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> school; accrediting organizations; to comply with a judicial order<br />
or lawfully issued subpoena; appropriate <strong>of</strong>f cials in cases <strong>of</strong> health and safety emergencies;<br />
to a victim <strong>of</strong> an alleged perpetrator <strong>of</strong> a crime <strong>of</strong> violence or a non forcible<br />
sex <strong>of</strong>fense; to a parent if <strong>the</strong> student has violated any law, rule or policy governing<br />
<strong>the</strong> use or possession <strong>of</strong> alcohol or a controlled substance; or <strong>the</strong> disclosure concerns<br />
sex <strong>of</strong>fenders required to register under federal law. (34 CFR § 99.31)<br />
DISCLOSURE TO SCHOOL OFFICIALS WITH LEGITIMATE<br />
EDUCATIONAL INTERESTS<br />
The <strong>University</strong> discloses education records without a student’s prior written consent<br />
under <strong>the</strong> FERPA exception for disclosure to school <strong>of</strong>f cials with legitimate educational<br />
interests. A school <strong>of</strong>f cial is a person employed by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> in an<br />
administrative, supervisory, academic or research, or support staff position (including<br />
<strong>University</strong> law enforcement personnel and <strong>University</strong> health staff); a person or<br />
company with whom <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> has contracted as its agent to provide a service<br />
instead <strong>of</strong> or in addition to using <strong>University</strong> employees or <strong>of</strong>f cials (such as an<br />
attorney, auditor, or collection agent); a person serving on <strong>the</strong> board <strong>of</strong> trustees;<br />
or a student serving on an <strong>of</strong>f cial committee, such as a disciplinary or grievance<br />
committee, or assisting ano<strong>the</strong>r school <strong>of</strong>f cial in performing his or her tasks.<br />
A school <strong>of</strong>f cial has a legitimate educational interest if <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>f cial needs to<br />
review an education record in order to fulf ll his or her pr<strong>of</strong>essional responsibilities<br />
for <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

*** Health Insurance is required <strong>of</strong> all students. Students who are currently insured<br />
under a comparable or better Health Insurance policy may waive <strong>the</strong> UDC Student<br />
Health Insurance Plan with pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> existing coverage (within a specified<br />
deadline timeframe). You must complete an Online Waiver Form<br />
(www.maksin.com/udc.aspx).<br />
Tuition Management System (TMS) Installment Plan is available to all Students:<br />
First payment is 1/3 <strong>of</strong> tuition, plus all mandatory fees and a $35.00<br />
enrollment fee. Tuition Management System (TMS) Installment Plan is not<br />
available for <strong>the</strong> summer term(s).<br />
NOTE:<br />
1) Student fees are nonrefundable.<br />
2) Tuition and fees are subject to change without<br />
