Bria 3.2 for Linux
1 New Features for Bria 3.2
In general, this release of Bria for Linux brings the feature set into line with Bria for Windows. Specifically:
The ability to create XMPP accounts.
The ability to send IM and share presence via SIP SIMPLE or XMPP.
Support for group chat over XMPP, assuming that the XMPP server supports this feature.
The ability to import or export the contact list to a file.
A Troubleshooting wizard to help solve problems with Bria.
In addition, this release of Bria for Linux is intended for Ubuntu Linux version 12.04, which is the current LTS
(long-term-support) version of Ubuntu.
2 Software and Hardware Requirements
Ubuntu® Desktop , version 12.04 or 12.10, 32-bit or 64-bit.
1 Ghz processor or faster.
256 MB RAM.
20 MB free disk space on your hard drive.
Microphone and speakers or headset. Headsets with built-in AEC are recommended. The following headsets
were tested are known to work with the client:
GN Netcom 8120 USB
Plantronics® CS50-USB Wireless Office Headset System
Plantronics® .Audio 400 DSP Foldable PC Headset
VOIPvoice® CyberPhone-K V652skMLR
Yealink USB-P1K VoIP phone
Internet connection – broadband is best (GPRS is not supported for voice calls).
3 Known Issues
If you repeatedly minimize Bria, the main menu disappear. The workaround is to restart Bria. [82056]
Button actions will not work with any of the supported headset devices.
The Polycom Communicator C100 is not supported because the AEC setting in the device driver does not
reduce echo enough.
Changing the Network Connection Speed to Dial-up or Custom will result in all codecs becoming disabled
after a restart. You will have to re-select codecs. [34220]
