A. I'm not sure, I can't remember, but right below us was the little "False Ca$le"

of the river, That's wliere the boats paid their tolls. Across the way were the ''Cat and Mouse"
castles. The big one and the little.one, and it was October and it was a beau 1, beautiful day,
and we sat out there on the terrace and watched the boat go up and down the ' e, and the
people were picking the last of the grapes, you know the spatlase grapes gro the very ripe sweet
ones, and we had a beautiful bottle of red wine and they only had about six ro ms in the old
castle.Beautifu1 thing. As a matter of fact it had a moat around it and we cod only drive up to
it It's only about four hundred feet above the river and we could drive up onl

so far. And they
came out to meet us and they had a little pony cart with two wheels on it and pony to pullit and
that's what we put our luggage on, and then we walked, following our luggag the rest of the way
to the castle, So anyway, we got to the bottom of the second bottle of wine, d somehow she
said, "Isn't that beautiful" and she said, " Phil, have you ever thought maybe b siness was
interfering with out traveling?" And (chuckle) I said, "Well Kitty, many timesiI've thought so
lately." She said, "Well now, you think about it. If when we get home, you Tnt over to your
ofice and told your partners to go to hell January one." I said, "Kitty,
I'll,do it. Now what are we going to do with our time?" So we got a
made a list of things, course we were going to travel anyway, and we went of places after
that like Afghanistan and Sumatra, so we made a list of about twenty three
still got the list in the basement someplace. We didn't get them all done but w$ got a lot of them
done besides traveling.
Q. When did she die?
A. July 30, 1977.
Q. You have three granddaughters. What mure they doing?

A,. They were the three that we mentioned earlier, I think. In college, all of thtm. Two of them
are sisters, twenty two and twenty one, they're fifteen months apart. One of th~m just graduated
from Princeton, the other one is a senior at Northwestern.
Q. She's an assistant isn't she?
A. Yes. The one at Rinceton will be an assistant to one of her professors the*. Of the three
gixls, Jill and Jan. . .and we didn't give them any rniddle names. Their mother aaid it was bad
enough when you get, later when you have a middle name, you get Married and you have four
