LIPKA RETURNS FOR 16TH SEASON<br />

• UK Coach Warren Lipka, the dean <strong>of</strong> Southeastern Conference coaches, returns to <strong>Kentucky</strong><br />

for his 16th season and has coached the Wildcat program since its inception. In<br />

2003, Lipka joined Florida Coach Becky Burleigh as the only coaches in SEC history to<br />

win 50 conference matches. A former All-American goalkeeper at South Carolina, Lipka<br />

claims one SEC title to his credit after his Cats earned the 1995 conference championship.<br />

Lipka owns a .573 winning percentage by way <strong>of</strong> his 174-126-28 overall record<br />

while leading the Wildcats to every SEC Tournament since the league began sponsoring<br />

women’s soccer in 1993, the longest streak in SEC history.<br />

Lipka spent time with the U.S. U-19 Women's National Team for the second time in as<br />

many <strong>of</strong>fseasons over the summer. Serving as the goalkeepers' coach, Lipka helped Team<br />

USA to a berth in the 2004 FIFA Under-19 Women's World Championship. Lipka's<br />

keepers never surrendered a goal in- wins over the Dominican Republic and Trinidad and<br />

Tobago and a tie against Costa Rica.<br />

Lipka also served a similar role with the U.S. U-19 and U-21 Women's National Teams<br />

during the summer <strong>of</strong> 2003, traveling with the teams to Germany and the Netherlands.<br />

• Warren Lipka is in his 16th season as the head coach <strong>of</strong> the Wildcats, with his 174 wins<br />

and .573 winning percentage, he ranks among the best coaches in the country in all-time<br />
