BRADLEY RECORDS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Ramel Bradley has been on a tear lately, scoring
double-digits in 12 straight games. It all came to
a head against Auburn (1/10) when Bradley
scored his first career double-double tallying 18
points and a career high 12 rebounds. He fell just
three assists short of the second triple-double in
school history finishing with seven assists.
COMING OF AGE
UK’s junior triumvirate of Ramel Bradley, Joe
Crawford and Randolph are currently all averaging
double figures in points scored as well as being
ranked among the SEC’s Top 20 scorers.
With another year under their belts, the junior
class is leading by example, and the proof is in the
numbers. The trio has combined for 826 of UK’s
1,374 points (60%), 314 of the team’s 722
rebounds (43%) and 144 of the 311 assists
(46%).

DOUBLE, DOUBLE-DOUBLES
Morris wasn’t the only one with a double-double
against Indiana. Senior Bobby Perry recorded
the first double-double of his career against the
Hoosiers scoring 11 points and pulling down a
season high 10 rebounds.
It was the first time since March 7, 2004 in
UK’s 82-62 win over Florida that two Wildcats
recorded double-doubles in the same game. In
that game, Erik Daniels scored 15 points and
pulled down 14 rebounds while Chuck Hayes
chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds.
TRIPLE-DOUBLE
One could argue that Bobby Perry scored the
second triple-double in Kentucky basketball history
against Indiana. Perry finished the game with
11 points and 10 rebounds. Thanks to a late game
head bump over his left eye, Perry was required to
get 12 stitches after the game. His final tally: 11
points, 10 rebounds, 12 stitches.
STARTING INGREDIENTS
Since his addition to the starting lineup, freshman
guard Derrick Jasper has improved in nearly
every aspect of his game. Coming off the bench in
the first seven games of the season, Jasper averaged
3.6 points per game compared to 6.2 in the
last 12 games in which he has received the starting
nod. His assists per game has seen a jump
from 2.8 to 3.6.
More importantly, the Wildcats are 11-1 when
the Paso Robles, Calif., native starts.
SELECTIVE SHOOTING
Freshman guard Derrick Jasper continues his
prudent shot selection. In a 10-game stretch, he
has taken on average, 3.4 shots per game, however
he’s made the most of his opportunities. In that
stretch, Jasper has hit 27-of-34 from the field
(.794).
UK VS. SEC EAST
Kentucky owns a 121-31 (.796) record against
SEC East teams since the league split into divisions
in 1992.
Since the split, the Wildcats have never finished
below .500 against the SEC East, and have gone
unbeaten (10-0) three times (1995, 1996 and
2003).
Tubby Smith is 70-22 against the East teams in
his nine seasons at UK and 81-31 overall.
TUBBY’S CATS ARE NIFTY AT FIFTY
During the Tubby Smith Era, UK is 111-2
(.982) when shooting 50 percent or better,
including a 7-0 mark this season.
SWAT PARTY
Freshman forward Perry Stevenson made a
strong first impression, blocking seven shots in
Kentucky’s 57-46 season opening victory over
Miami (OH), the most ever for a Wildcat in his
first game. It tied the freshman record of seven
blocks by Andre Riddick, who did it twice as a
yearling in the 1991-92 season. It was also the
most for a Wildcat in 12 years, since Riddick had
seven rejections vs. Arkansas in the 1994
Southeastern Conference tournament, and ties
for the fourth most in a single game in school history.
STEVENSON THE STARTER
Perry Stevenson, who started the first five games
of the season, became the first freshman Wildcat
to start a season opener for UK since Rajon
Rondo and teammate Randolph Morris started
against Coppin State in the 2004-05 season. Prior
to those two, the first freshman Wildcat to start a
season opener was Jason Parker starting against St.
Johns to begin the 2001 season.
ROOKIES MAKE POSITIVE IMPRESSIONS
UK’s four scholarship freshmen - guards
Derrick Jasper, Jodie Meeks and Michael Porter
and forward Perry Stevenson - have made quite an
impression early in their collegiate careers.
Stevenson started the first five games of the season
and is second on the team with 23 blocks.
Jasper ranks second on the team in steals (27) and
assists (63). Meeks is the leading reserve in terms
of points (6.4 ppg) and three point field goals
made (15) and scored a career high 18 points in
UK’s win over U of L along with being named the
SEC’s Freshman of the Week that week. Porter is
8-of-21 (.381) on long-range shots, the highest
percentage of any Wildcat coming off the bench.
