<strong>OFFICIAL</strong> RULES<br />

1. Eligibility: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.<br />

ALL CONTESTS ARE VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.<br />

This contest with the prizes (the “<strong>Contest</strong>”) is open to current union leaders, staff and members of affiliated unions<br />

who participate in the <strong>Union</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> programs. To claim any of the prizes you must be a resident of the United States,<br />

be 21 years or older and have a valid driver’s license in the United States.<br />

The <strong>Contest</strong> is not open to employees of <strong>Union</strong> Privilege, Avis Budget Group, Enterprise Holdings, Hertz Holdings,<br />

and their families.<br />

You may enter only once in the <strong>Contest</strong>. Multiple submissions will be removed by <strong>Union</strong> Privilege.<br />

2. <strong>Contest</strong> Sponsor & Administrator: <strong>Union</strong> Privilege (the provider of <strong>Union</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> benefits,) 1125 15 th St. NW, Suite<br />

3. Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in this <strong>Contest</strong> constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement<br />

to these Official Rules and Sponsor/Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to<br />

this <strong>Contest</strong>. Winning any of the prizes is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.<br />

4. Timing: The <strong>Contest</strong> begins on April 9, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET"), ends on June 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m.<br />

ET.<br />

5. How to Enter: Visit <strong>Union</strong><strong>Plus</strong><strong>Contest</strong>.org and register to receive information about <strong>Union</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> programs.<br />

6. Prizes: The Prizes are provided by <strong>Union</strong> Privilege.<br />

<strong>Union</strong> Privilege staff will randomly select five (5) winners among all the registrants.<br />

Each of the prize winners will receive ONLY one of the following Gift Certificates:<br />

• One (1) Week Gift Coupon from Alamo<br />

• One (1) Week Gift Coupon from National<br />

• One (1) Week Gift Certificate from Avis<br />

• One (1) Week Gift Certificate from Budget<br />

• $100 gift certificate from Hertz<br />

The prizes must be taken as offered and are neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. The prizes cannot be<br />

sold. Each prize is restricted by the Gift Certificate terms and conditions as described below.<br />

Valid coupon ID required for all rentals. Coupon may only be used once and is void upon redemption.<br />

Valid for the rental of a compact through full size vehicle, subject to availability. Offer subject to standard<br />

rental conditions. 24-hour advance reservation required. Valid at participating locations in the United<br />

States and Canada. Coupon is not valid on open or previous rentals. Coupon may be redeemed to cover<br />

base rate for the consecutive rental period designated on the face of the coupon but excludes taxes<br />

(including GST), other governmentally-authorized or imposed surcharges, license recoupment/air tax<br />

recovery and concession recoupment fees, airport and airport facility fees, fuel, additional driver fee, oneway<br />

rental charge or optional items, which shall be the responsibility of renter. Check your auto policy<br />

and/or credit card agreement for rental vehicle coverage. Coupon is not valid with any other offer,<br />

coupon, discount or promotional rate but you may combine up to three separate free day coupons per<br />

single rental. When using more than one coupon, reservations must be made by calling 1-866-626-9102.<br />

Any unused portion of the coupon will be forfeited, and no residual credit or refunds will be issued if<br />

coupon is not fully used. Blackout dates may apply. Coupon is not exchangeable, refundable, transferable<br />

or redeemable for cash. Coupon void if damaged, defaced, reproduced, bought, bartered or sold for cash.<br />

Certificates must be presented at the counter, up to seven certificates per rental. An advance reservation<br />

is required. Taxes, optional services and other surcharges are extra and are the renter’s responsibility.<br />

This certificate entitles the bearer to one day’s daily time and mileage charges free, on any car up to a<br />

premium (group G), excluding group F. Taxes, concession recovery fees, vehicle license recovery fee,<br />

customer facility charges ($10/contract in CA) may apply and are extra. Optional products such as LDW<br />

($29.99/day or less) and refueling are extra. Offer valid at participating Avis locations in the U.S.<br />

(excluding the New York Metro area) and Canada. Offer subject to vehicle availability at time of<br />

reservation and may not be available on some rates at some times. <strong>Car</strong>s must be returned to renting<br />

location. For reservations made on avis.com, free day will be applied at time of rental. An advance<br />

reservation is required. May not be used in conjunction with any other coupon, promotion or offer.<br />

Certificates have no cash value, are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged or returned and are nonrefundable<br />

and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Altered or copied certificates are void and will not be<br />

surrendered at the time of rental, up to seven certificates per rental. Certificates cannot be applied to<br />

completed rentals. Holiday and other blackout periods may apply. If a rental begins during a blackout<br />

period, the whole rental is blacked out and does not qualify for use of a Certificate. Renter must meet Avis<br />

age, driver and credit requirements. Minimum age may vary by location. An additional daily surcharge<br />

may apply for renters under 25 years old. <strong>Rental</strong> must begin by 5/31/2013.<br />

Budget Rent A <strong>Car</strong> - 7 Reward Days:<br />

5/31/2013.<br />

Hertz <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Rental</strong> - $100 Gift Certificate:<br />

Be sure to make your reservation with the Promotion Code provided for the $100 Hertz <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Rental</strong> Gift<br />

Certificate.<br />

Renter must satisfy Hertz credit, age, rental and driver qualifications in effect at the time and place of<br />

rental. This <strong>Rental</strong> Certificate will be honored at any participating Hertz <strong>Rental</strong> Location for a rental from<br />

Hertz made in accordance with the terms of the Hertz rental agreement, up to the amount stated on the<br />

reverse side. Charges in excess of that amount must be paid by acceptable means of payment. This <strong>Rental</strong><br />

Certificate is non transferrable, may not be redeemed in whole or in part for cash and shall be deemed<br />

fully redeemed once surrendered. The value of this certificate will be applied prior to discounts.<br />

National <strong>Car</strong> <strong>Rental</strong> - One (1) Week Gift Coupon:<br />

8. Promotional Use of Photos: The Winners may also be asked to participate in a professional photo shoot and<br />

provide a testimonial for use in promoting the <strong>Union</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> programs. Any photos or testimonials may be featured<br />

on one or more of the following: <strong>Union</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> and union websites, social media, emails and publications.<br />

9. Winners: The Winners will be notified by email no later than July 13, 2012 and each Winner must claim his or her<br />

prize within 7 days of notification. If the Sponsor/Administrator does not receive a response within this time<br />

period, the winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner selected. The Winners may make no substitution<br />

or transfer the prizes. All federal, state and local income taxes are the sole responsibility of the Winners. The<br />

Winners assume all liability for any injury, damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this <strong>Contest</strong><br />

or use or redemption of any prize.<br />

The prizes shall not include any fees, transaction costs, taxes, governmental fees, etc., which shall be the sole<br />

responsibility of the winners. <strong>Union</strong> Privilege reserves the right to withhold any taxes as required by applicable law.<br />

The winning <strong>Contest</strong>ants may be required to supply Social Security numbers or other taxpayer identification<br />

numbers prior to the award of any prizes. All prizes will be awarded to the first and last name as provided by the<br />

Entrant.<br />

10. Release: By participating, entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the Sponsor/Administrator, and their<br />

respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and<br />

each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents<br />

from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or<br />

loss of property, arising out of participation in the <strong>Contest</strong> or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.<br />

11. General Conditions: The Sponsor/Administrator reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the<br />

Promotion, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor/Administrator’s<br />

reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the <strong>Contest</strong>, as determined by<br />

Sponsor/Administrator in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor/Administrator reserves the right to award the<br />

prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment.<br />

Sponsor/Administrator reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering<br />

with the entry process or the operation of the <strong>Contest</strong> or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any<br />

other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately<br />

undermine the legitimate operation of the <strong>Contest</strong> may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an<br />

attempt be made, Sponsor/Administrator reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest<br />

extent permitted by law. Sponsor/Administrator’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not<br />

constitute a waiver of that provision.<br />

12. Disputes: Except where prohibited, you agree that: any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of<br />

or connected with this <strong>Contest</strong> or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of<br />

class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia or the appropriate<br />

District of Columbia Superior Court; any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-ofpocket<br />

costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this <strong>Contest</strong>, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and


under no circumstances will you be permitted to obtain awards for, and you hereby waive all rights to claim,<br />

indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-ofpocket<br />

expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and<br />

questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the<br />

rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor/Administrator in connection with the <strong>Contest</strong>, shall be governed<br />

by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the District of Columbia without giving effect to any choice of<br />

law or conflict of law rules (whether of the District of Columbia or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the<br />

application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the District of Columbia.<br />

13. Limitation of Liabilities: The Prize Suppliers and Sponsor/Administrator are not responsible for: any incorrect or<br />

inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing, typographical or other errors or by any of the<br />

equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the <strong>Contest</strong>; technical failures of any kind, including, but<br />

not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software;<br />

unauthorized human intervention in any part of the submission process or the <strong>Contest</strong>; printing, typographical,<br />

technical, computer, network or human error which may occur in the administration of the <strong>Contest</strong>, the uploading,<br />

the processing or judging of Content or votes or the tabulating of votes, the announcement of the prizes or in any<br />

<strong>Contest</strong>-related materials; late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or any injury or damage to persons or<br />

property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the <strong>Contest</strong><br />

or receipt or use or misuse of any prize (including any travel/activity related thereto). The Prize Suppliers and<br />

Sponsor/Administrator are not responsible for misdirected or undeliverable Content or for any technical problems,<br />

malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network<br />

connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. The<br />

Prize Suppliers and Sponsor/Administrator are not responsible for any unauthorized third party use of any<br />

Content.<br />

14. Privacy Policy: When you participate in this promotion, you submit personally identifiable information such as<br />

your name, email address and phone number. We also collect other non-personally identifiable data, which may<br />

include your IP address and what browser you are using, by using cookies, web beacons or similar technologies.<br />

We also use your information to contact you when necessary, to verify or provide information in connection with<br />

providing our Service, or for other administrative purposes.<br />
