Faculty Scholarship Program<br />
High quality undergraduate education requires creative, skilled faculty, yet recruit<strong>in</strong>g and reta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g qualified<br />
faculty is one of the greatest challenges <strong>for</strong> smaller colleges. The <strong>United</strong> <strong>Board</strong> Faculty Scholarship Program<br />
yields multiple benefits, as it enables younger faculty members at our partner <strong>in</strong>stitutions to earn advanced<br />
degrees, builds capacity <strong>in</strong> key discipl<strong>in</strong>es at <strong>Asia</strong>n colleges, and <strong>in</strong>troduces new pedagogies <strong>in</strong>to classrooms.<br />
The program also builds valuable professional networks throughout <strong>Asia</strong>, as participants earn their advanced<br />
degrees at <strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>in</strong> the <strong>Asia</strong>-Pacific region.<br />
Host <strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>in</strong> <strong>2010</strong> and <strong>2011</strong> were Ateneo de Manila University, Bond University, Christ University, De<br />
La Salle University, Ewha Womans University, Indonesian Center <strong>for</strong> Religious Studies, La Trobe University,<br />
Macquarie University, Miriam College, Payap University, Seoul Women’s University and Silliman University.<br />
