are seeking to partner with SCCA for rally activities. Thank you for supporting the MADD Rally
in Albany and thank you for agreeing to work with a marque club that is interested in learning
about RallyCross from NER.
Every month opportunities come to NER for participation in events where we can present our
club to motorsports enthusiasts or people who enjoy their cars. We need someone to co-ordinate
these activities, someone who will provide guidance and materials to our members who are
interested in helping recruit more members and publicize our activities.
The Board of Directors has placed a “Help Wanted” ad on the NER
website for a publicity chairman. If you are interested or know someone
who is—please contact me or Chris Franson.
Earlier this Spring I had an opportunity to take a school and work on my
driving. My whole responsibility that day was
to drive the car and learn to drive better. Wow!
What a great day I had. I met people who told me
about the good and not-so-good things at different
clubs’ events, a lot to be learned from those
comments. I left as soon as I was done running,
another strange experience. Probably just as

strange as it was for the three instructors, all top competitors, to focus
on helping other people get faster. I know that as a result of changing
roles at one event, I will be able to do a better job not only competing
but as an event organizer. It’s a one-event change that I would suggest
everyone try, no matter what you do in the club—compete, organize
or come to events as a worker. It will give you great insight into the
club.
