FIRST ASCO – SEMCO EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE
Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Course
(MCMC)
5 – 6 April 2007, Cairo, Egypt
Organized by:
South and East
Mediterranean College of Oncology
(SEMCO)
National Training Institute
Nasr City
Cairo - Egypt

Welcome
The South and East Mediterranean College of Oncology (SEMCO) is pleased to inform you
that for the first time, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) will hold its
Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Course (MCMC) in the region.
The main theme is “the Multidisciplinary Management of Breast and Bladder Cancers.”
We hope that this course will have attendants from the whole region of the South and East
Mediterranean in order to extend the benefit of such course. Almost all medical specialties
become concerned with the multidisciplinary cancer management. Hence, we invite specialists
and residents from all fields to attend this educational conference. Moreover, senior consultants
from the region are highly welcomed.
Behind SEMCO is the successful experience of "ICEDOC's Experts in Cancer without Borders"
(www.icedoc.org) in many parts of the world. We believe that any regional scientific and medical
activities should rise from the region itself. The role of SEMCO executives is to serve colleagues in
the region and to enhance collaboration and cooperation with different regional and international
organizations and societies. We are currently engaged in successive preparations of scientific
events in collaboration with distinguished organizations in the world. We adopt the same principals
of ICEDOC that we are not competitors, but we are collaborators. Our work is based on hand – in -
hand cooperation.
There will be also satellite meetings for the advisors of SEMCO and personalities from
international and regional organizations, as well as from international affairs office of NCI (USA)
who are welling to collaborate with SEMCO. Our objective is to discuss how we can cooperate
well together against cancer in the South and East Mediterranean region.
For the guests coming from the region and the world we hope that you have enough free time after
the meeting to enjoy your stay in and tour Cairo and Egypt
On behalf of the executive committee members, we are looking forward to have the pleasure of
seeing you in April 2007.
