COUNSELING SERVICES<br />

NETWORKING GROUPS<br />

<strong>LivingWell</strong> offers individual & couples<br />

counseling services to those impacted by a<br />

cancer diagnosis; please call to schedule an<br />

appointment.<br />

Individual and Family consultations are<br />

available for participants who would like to meet<br />

with a member of <strong>the</strong> clinical staff to learn more<br />

about our programs or ask specific questions.<br />

SUPPORT GROUPS<br />

Reminder: All programs require<br />

pre-registration.<br />

Support groups provide participants with <strong>the</strong><br />

opportunity to share information and to obtain<br />

emotional support. All support groups are led by<br />

licensed professionals.<br />

Caregiver’s Support<br />

This 12-week support group embraces <strong>the</strong><br />

importance of those dedicated to caring for<br />

loved ones living with cancer. Pre-registration is<br />

required. Meets Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm<br />

at <strong>LivingWell</strong> or every first Wednesday of<br />

<strong>the</strong> month from 11:30-12:30 at <strong>the</strong> CDH<br />

<strong>Cancer</strong> <strong>Center</strong>.<br />

Facing <strong>Cancer</strong> Toge<strong>the</strong>r (FACT)<br />

FACT is a 12-week evening support group for<br />

individuals with any type and stage of cancer.<br />

Pre-registration is required before April 17th.<br />

Group is open to new participants during <strong>the</strong> first<br />

three weeks of <strong>the</strong> quarter. Meets Tuesdays<br />

from 6:30-8:00pm.<br />

Good Grief<br />

Good Grief is an 11-week time limited group<br />

providing education and emotional support<br />

for participants of <strong>LivingWell</strong> who recently<br />

experienced <strong>the</strong> loss of a loved one to cancer.<br />

Topics include <strong>the</strong> stages of grief, coping with<br />

holidays and special events, and techniques to help<br />

participants grow through <strong>the</strong> grief process. Preregistration<br />

is required before April 12th. Group is<br />

open to new members during <strong>the</strong> first two weeks<br />

of <strong>the</strong> quarter. Meets Thursdays from 5:30-<br />

7:00pm.<br />

Living Water <strong>Cancer</strong><br />

Support Group<br />

<strong>LivingWell</strong> is proud to host Christ Community<br />

Church’s Living Water <strong>Cancer</strong> Support Group.<br />

This group focuses on <strong>the</strong> emotional, spiritual,<br />

and physical aspects of dealing with cancer and<br />

offers support and encouragement while helping<br />

people discover joy, hope, and healing through<br />

<strong>the</strong> Christian faith. Meets on <strong>the</strong> 1st & 3rd<br />

Saturdays of each month from 10-11:30am<br />

at <strong>LivingWell</strong> <strong>Cancer</strong> <strong>Resource</strong> <strong>Center</strong>.<br />

Open to those diagnosed with cancer,<br />

caregivers, and survivors. First time<br />

attendees require pre-registration. No<br />

meetings May 19 or June 2.<br />

Us TOO Prostate <strong>Cancer</strong><br />

Support Group<br />

<strong>LivingWell</strong> is proud to partner with Provena Saint<br />

Joseph Hospital, Provena Mercy Medical <strong>Center</strong>,<br />

and Oncology Chaplain, Pastor Don Shank, to<br />

bring Us TOO to our center. Group meetings<br />

provide unbiased information from experts<br />

in areas related to prostate cancer including<br />

treatment options, pain control, nutrition, mental<br />

health, coping strategies and more. Meets <strong>the</strong><br />

third Tuesday of every month from 10:30-<br />

11:30am (April 17, May 15, and June 19).<br />

Drop in! No pre-registration is required.<br />

Networking groups are cancer specific groups<br />

that provide an opportunity to share information<br />

with o<strong>the</strong>r survivors and family members.<br />

Groups are facilitated by licensed professionals<br />

unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise indicated.<br />

Breast <strong>Cancer</strong> Networking Group<br />

Meets <strong>the</strong> third Monday of <strong>the</strong> month from<br />

7:00-8:30pm (April 16, May 21, June 18)<br />

at <strong>LivingWell</strong> and <strong>the</strong> first Monday of every<br />

month from 7:00-8:30pm at Central DuPage<br />

Hospital in Winfield.<br />

Brain Tumor <strong>Resource</strong><br />

and Support Group*<br />

*Caregivers welcome Meets <strong>the</strong> first and third<br />

Wednesday of <strong>the</strong> month from 7:30-9:00pm<br />

(April 4 and 18, May 2 and 16, June 6 and 20)<br />

Gynecological <strong>Cancer</strong><br />

Networking Group<br />

(Open to individuals with Ovarian, Cervical,<br />

Uterine, and o<strong>the</strong>r Gynecological cancers)<br />

Meets on <strong>the</strong> first Monday of <strong>the</strong> month from<br />

7:00-8:30pm (April 2, May 7, and June 4)<br />

Leukemia, Lymphoma, and<br />

Multiple Myeloma Networking Group<br />

Meets on <strong>the</strong> third Monday of <strong>the</strong> month<br />

from 7:00-8:30pm (April 16, May 21, June<br />

18)<br />

Mastectomy Networking Group*<br />

(Open to women who have had a mastectomy.<br />

Group discussion will focus on <strong>the</strong> emotional,<br />

physical, and psychological impact of a<br />

mastectomy). Meets <strong>the</strong> second and fourth<br />

Wednesday of <strong>the</strong> month from 7:30-9:00pm.<br />

(April 11 and 25, May 9 and 23, and June 13<br />

and 27) *This group is facilitated by a breast<br />

cancer survivor who also had a mastectomy,<br />

Noel Storm. Noel is also available for individual<br />

support sessions via phone or in person. Please<br />

call to set up a meeting.
