Learn this gentle, elegant and social style of dance, a forerunner of square dancing<br />

CULINARY COMFORTS<br />
Wednesdays, February 6, 13, 20 & 27, 6:00 –7:30 pm<br />
Culinary Comforts is a 4-week class that teaches<br />
healthy food preparation and is designed for people<br />
living with cancer and <strong>the</strong>ir caregivers. Our instructors<br />
will prepare and serve <strong>the</strong> group one entrée, one side<br />
dish, and one dessert each class. The health benefits<br />
of <strong>the</strong> ingredients and <strong>the</strong> preparation of <strong>the</strong> food are<br />
discussed so that recipes can be easily replicated at<br />
home. Most recipes are based on <strong>the</strong> publications One<br />
Bite at a Time and The <strong>Cancer</strong> Fighting Kitchen by<br />
Rebecca Katz. Commitment to <strong>the</strong> four week series<br />
is preferred. Those attending all four sessions will<br />
receive a complimentary copy of The <strong>Cancer</strong> Fighting<br />

Joseph Hospital, Provena Mercy Medical <strong>Center</strong>,<br />
and Oncology Chaplain, Pastor Don Shank, to<br />
bring Us TOO to our center. Group meetings<br />
provide unbiased information from experts in areas<br />
related to prostate cancer including treatment<br />
options, pain control, nutrition, mental health,<br />
coping strategies and more. Drop in! No preregistration<br />
is required.<br />
WOMEN’S SHARE CIRCLE<br />
Second Monday of every month<br />
1:00 –2:30 pm<br />
<strong>Cancer</strong> can be an isolating and exhausting<br />
illness. This group invites women who are ei<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>the</strong> patient or <strong>the</strong> caregiver to come toge<strong>the</strong>r to<br />
meet o<strong>the</strong>r women, share <strong>the</strong>ir stories, and feel<br />
empowered. This group goes beyond <strong>the</strong> cancer<br />
diagnosis to examine group members’ habits,<br />
histories, and goals in a supportive environment.<br />
Group members are strongly encouraged to attend<br />
<strong>the</strong> Life Skills Series presented by Leslie Karen<br />
Sann in addition to this group. First time attendees<br />
require pre-registration.<br />
Networking groups are cancer specific groups that<br />
provide an opportunity to share information with<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r survivors and family members. Groups are<br />
facilitated by licensed professionals unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise<br />
indicated.<br />

MASTECTOMY NETWORKING GROUP*<br />
Open to women who have had a mastectomy. Group<br />
discussion will focus on <strong>the</strong> emotional, physical, and<br />
psychological impact of a mastectomy. Meets <strong>the</strong><br />
second and fourth Wednesday of <strong>the</strong> month from 7:30-<br />
9:00 pm. (January 9 and 23, February 13 and 27 and<br />

Bubble Party<br />
Time Out is designed to give kids a break from <strong>the</strong><br />
cancer experience. This group provides recreational<br />
activities that vary from meeting to meeting and are<br />
open to pediatric cancer survivors as well as children<br />
who have a cancer diagnosis in <strong>the</strong> family. RSVP for<br />
each meeting is required to ensure enough supplies are<br />
available.<br />
Our new Expressive Movement group helps children<br />
and teens process emotions through <strong>the</strong> use of<br />
movement. Research shows that exercise has many<br />
mental and emotional health related benefits. This<br />
group gives children and teens <strong>the</strong> opportunity to reap<br />
<strong>the</strong>se benefits through <strong>the</strong> use of several activities<br />
including martial arts, InterPlay, yoga and more. Call for<br />

Club Courageous is a 5-week support group for<br />
children ages 6-12 who have been impacted by<br />
cancer. Participants will participate in a variety of<br />
educational, art and support-based activities to help<br />
process <strong>the</strong>ir cancer experience. Parents will be<br />
invited to attend <strong>the</strong> final session.<br />
TEEN SUPPORT GROUP<br />

Our Teen Support Group helps teens ages 12-16<br />
whose lives have been impacted by cancer. This<br />
group will provide participants with <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />
to discuss changes <strong>the</strong>y have experienced in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
personal, family, and social lives and process <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
emotions surrounding <strong>the</strong>ir journey with cancer.<br />
Good Grief is an 11-week time limited group providing<br />
education and emotional support for participants<br />

Good Grief for Parents is a 5-week bereavement<br />
group providing education and emotional support for<br />
parents who have lost a child to cancer. Topics include<br />

<strong>the</strong> grief process. Sessions will be offered for parents<br />
who have lost an adult child as well as for parents<br />

REIKI ENERGY HEALING<br />
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a<br />
gentle, non-invasive energy healing<br />
system that channels energy<br />
through <strong>the</strong> hands of a trained<br />
practitioner, which are placed on<br />
or above <strong>the</strong> client’s fully clo<strong>the</strong>d<br />
body. Reiki supports <strong>the</strong> body’s own<br />
healing process, promoting deep<br />
relaxation, well-being and inner<br />
calm. These services are available<br />
