Historic environment
Landscape
We have detailed experience of developing
master plans which respond sensitively to
conservation areas and listed buildings.
Recent projects include our work in
Park Village, a historic hospital site in
Basingstoke where the core is designated
as a conservation area. Construction is
now underway, to designs by our in-house
architects, incorporating the conversion of
historic buildings, new housing and flats
and a mixed use centre. Given the crucial
importance of this aspect of the master
plan we have asked FHS to work with us
on building significance, conversion and
feasability.
The involvement of our experienced
landscape architecture team will be
particularly important in ensuring that
the open character of the strategic gap is
maintained. Technically robust assessments
to withstand challenge are produced by this
team using best practice techniques and
guidance.
