MR. BEAN
Series 1 Episode Guide
On WETA UK Sundays at 9:30pm!
Episode One – MR. BEAN
Mr. Bean contemplates cheating on an exam, but runs out of time despite his lucky mascot. Later
on the beach, he overcomes the lack of privacy by devising a novel way of changing into swim
trunks. In church, he deals with a ticklish sneeze by reinventing the concept of the pocket
handkerchief, and struggles to stay awake.
Episode Two – THE RETURN OF MR. BEAN
While shopping at a department store, Mr. Bean gets carried away, literally, when he
accompanies a fellow customer to the rest room. At an exclusive restaurant he polishes off steak
tartar without eating a mouthful. He is honored to shake hands with the Queen, who is knocked
out to meet him.
Episode Three – THE CURSE OF MR. BEAN
Mr. Bean finds himself in deep water at the swimming pool. First he falls from the diving board,
and then his swim trunks fall off. Later, he outwits a malicious parking lot barrier with a mind of its
own, and picnics in the park, devising an ingenious approach to eating al fresco. Finally, at the
movies, he shows how popcorn can ruin a relationship.
Episode Four – MR. BEAN GOES TO TOWN
Mr. Bean relies on lateral thinking to make his newly acquired television set work properly, only to
be defeated by the electric meter. When his other new toy — a Polaroid camera — is stolen, he
catches the thief in an unusual police lineup.
Episode Five – THE TROUBLE WITH MR. BEAN
Realizing he is late for a dentist appointment, Mr. Bean gets dressed while driving there. When the
dentist is knocked unconscious, Mr. Bean attempts a first — self dentistry. Later, while relaxing in
the park, he takes control of a wheelchair — without knowing it — and finds that killing a wasp is
no piece of cake.
Episode Six – MR. BEAN RIDES AGAIN
Mr. Bean resuscitates a heart-attack victim with jumper cables — only to electrocute himself. He
finds a mailbox is a very good hideaway, an experience that comes in handy when he has to pack
a tiny suitcase to capacity. Settling down to enjoy his holiday flight, he befriends a small boy who
happens to have a surprise lurking in his bag.
Episode Seven – MERRY CHRISTMAS, MR. BEAN
Mr. Bean, very excited that it is Christmas, befriends a Salvation Army band, then drives home
with the tallest tree he can find. On Christmas Day there are plenty of surprises under the tree, but

the gift he gives to his girlfriend is not what she had hoped for, and she leaves him all alone. Even
so, Mr. Bean's holiday season ends with a bang.
Episode Eight – MR. BEAN IN ROOM 426
Mr. Bean treats himself to a weekend at a hotel, but tries to turn his room into a home away from
home with the aid of an electric drill and a picture of Shirley Bassey. He attempts to outdo a fellow
guest, and ends up eating bad oysters, getting locked out of his room with no clothes on, and
angering the lounge performer.
Episode Nine – MIND THE BABY, MR. BEAN
All the fun of the fair awaits Mr. Bean until he unwittingly ends up baby-sitting. Undaunted, he sets
out to enjoy the day, and despite having to cope with squeaky toys, improvised diapers and a
flying stroller, he finds time to win at bingo and lose a goldfish. Thankfully, his young charge
remains unscathed, and is reunited with his mother through Mr. Bean's amateur archery.
Episode Ten – DO IT YOURSELF, MR. BEAN
Mr. Bean's New Year's Eve party is a failure, but New Year's Day has its consolations when he
employs a cunning ruse to secure a bargain, although he is driven to extremes trying to get it
home on the roof-rack. Some home improvement results in a rearrangement of the furniture and
most of Mr. Bean's possessions. When he attempts a little redecoration, purely for cosmetic
reasons, the resulting explosion makes it a year to remember
Episode Eleven – BACK TO SCHOOL, MR. BEAN
On adult education day, Mr. Bean visits his local school, where he has several lessons to learn.
The chaos in the craft hall is almost equaled by the confusion that results when he stumbles into
an art class. After he uses a new move to down a judo instructor, Mr. Bean sets out on a trouser
hunt. His joy at finding his pants is dashed when he sees his beloved car crushed by a tank.
Despite everything, Mr. Bean finds that life has its compensations.
Episode Twelve – TEE OFF, MR. BEAN
Mr. Bean misplaces his trousers at the laundromat and finds himself in a bind trying to retrieve
them. That problem solved, he goes to the Krazy Golf Course, but not being allowed to touch the
ball proves a great challenge.
Episode Thirteen – GOODNIGHT, MR. BEAN
Mr. Bean is not well. He visits the local hospital, but there are too many people waiting, and he is
an impatient patient. While sightseeing, he finds the sentry guard lacking in color. At bedtime he
has trouble sleeping until he remembers a reliable trick, which works perfectly
Episode Fourteen – HAIR BY MR. BEAN OF LONDON
When Mr. Bean has to wait a few minutes for the hairdresser who's called away by the telephone,
he starts playing barber, so three consecutive costumers have their hair done by him, but his
inverse Midas touch strikes again: woe their hair and the real hairdresser they complain to! Next
he goes to a pet show, starting off by cheating at a dexterity game by unplugging the faultdetection
and next deciding to play 'hit the headmaster' not just with the provided wet sponges,
but with anything not too heavy for him to lift; then he enters his teddy-bear for the obedience test
(meant for kids' dogs). In the train station he stops at nothing to get on without a ticket, and
succeeds as a crawling sack of post - but on which train is he carried?
