ROSEMARY & THYMESeason 2 <strong>Episode</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>On <strong>WETA</strong> <strong>UK</strong> Thursdays at 8:00pm!<strong>Episode</strong> One & Two – MEMORY OF WATERLyvedon Manor is both a source of pride and a financial drain for Martin Frazer and his wifeSuzanne. Martin, a barrister, hires <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Laura to restore his walled garden, which hasfallen into disrepair. It’s a big job, but there is a ready source of cheap labor — the inmates of thelocal prison. <strong>Rosemary</strong> is nervous about working with ex-cons, and her suspicions are confirmedwhen Martin’s cousin Jim is found drowned in a nearby river. As Laura and <strong>Rosemary</strong> struggle tobring the garden back to life, events take a mysterious turn. Just before the Coroner’s Inquest intohis death, cousin Jim is seen alive again.<strong>Episode</strong> Three – ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERGROWTHLaura and <strong>Rosemary</strong> are asked by old friend Julia Moore to design a memorial garden based onthe myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Julia is housing Laura’s distraught daughter Helena in a flatoverlooking the communal square gardens where Laura and <strong>Rosemary</strong> are working. Helena isangry with her mother, thinking that she is responsible for the break up of her marriage and thatLaura is there to heal the rift. But family matters are put on hold when Jeremy Pearson, anothertenant of Julia’s, is found dead in the communal garden. Tensions between neighbors and cluesabout Jeremy’s alcoholism surface as the work that <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Laura carry out on the gardenis vandalized nightly.<strong>Episode</strong> Four – THEY UNDERSTAND ME IN PARIS<strong>Rosemary</strong>’s old school friend Dorothy has invited the gardeners to her French Riviera house, VillaGlavany, to help restore the 150-year-old garden to its former glory before re-opening it to thepublic. However, one of Dorothy’s neighbors, James Pretty, is strongly opposed to the impendingarrival of hordes of visitors, and Laura and <strong>Rosemary</strong> realize their task will be controversial.Events take a dramatic turn when Dorothy’s husband Kasper is found dead, a valuable piece ofsilverware is stolen and James Pretty believes he witnessed the crime.<strong>Episode</strong> Five – THE INVISIBLE WORMStagford Lodge Prep School is full of tradition. Classics master Richard Oakley intends to keep itthat way, despite the efforts of the current Headmaster, Quentin Marshall, to drag the school intothe 21st century. Quentin’s wife, Eleanor, hires <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Laura to investigate why theschool’s newly planted roses are dying. Richard invites the ladies to the annual Night of the Stag,a school tradition involving a member of staff, dressed as a stag, and the ritual humiliation ofanother teacher. But the festivities are brought to an abrupt end by the death of Simon Todd, theshy geography teacher. Are the dying roses and the mystery of Simon’s death connected? Ourlady gardeners find the intrigue beneath the school’s surface respectability much more intensethan first appearances suggest.


<strong>Episode</strong> Six – THE GONGOOZLERSGavin Patterson is anxious to restore the ratings of his TV garden make-over show and hasenlisted Quinnie Dorell to add a new dimension to the series. But Quinnie’s knowledge ofgardening is slight, so <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Laura agree to offer some specialist advice. When<strong>Rosemary</strong> falls from a viewing tower in an accident that was probably intended for Quinnie, andvisiting journalist Rosie FitzCarron is found dead in the secluded lake, it is clear that the cut-throatworld of TV personalities may have taken a more serious turn.<strong>Episode</strong> Seven – THE ITALIAN RAPSCALLIONEmma Standish is opening her restaurant on the Ligurian coast of Italy, and <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Lauraare way behind in their preparation of the surrounding garden. The ladies find the pace of life hereis hard to hurry, and local fixer Fabrizio Biaggi insists a visit to the glorious Giardini Tremonti willinspire them all. Their guided tour is brought to an abrupt halt, however, when a member of theirparty, Janice Alexander, is found dead. Fabrizio is arrested but Emma insists <strong>Rosemary</strong> andLaura must prove him innocent. Matters are further complicated when Dr Llewellyn’s daughterCelia is discovered not to be the model she claims, but really practicing the ‘oldest profession’.The restaurant preparation is further interrupted when retired Foreign Office diplomat Sir BasilSlavinski is also found dead at the bottom of his cliff-top garden, with the Mediterranean lapping athis feet.<strong>Episode</strong> Eight – SWORDS INTO PLOUGHSHARESWhy was Gemma Jackson posing as <strong>Rosemary</strong> Boxer to gain access to Engleton Park before shewas found dead, and why has the once perfect Engleton garden become so blighted that it can nolonger be open to the public? Lord Engleton’s connection with the local archaeology departmentmeans that <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Laura must look at history to find the source of the garden’s problems.Anglo-Saxon artifacts hold the clue but when Richard Earle, working on the same archaeologicalsite as Gemma, is also murdered, the gardeners realize that someone is willing to pay a very highprice for a piece of British history.<strong>Episode</strong> Nine – UP THE GARDEN PATHIn the village of Rowfield, the Garden Open Day Scheme (GODS) is the highlight of the socialcalendar. So when Grania Monkton, the local scheme organizer, discovers the gardens of themain contestants are all afflicted with the same blight, she calls in <strong>Rosemary</strong> and Laura to try andsave the good name of Rowfield. Events take a darker turn when Gloria’s rival for villageorganizer, Donald Westward, is found dead and his garden wrecked. All fingers point to Barry andTracey Skinner, the local builder and his wife who do not fit in with the rest of the village. TheSkinners also hope to win the GODS competition with the help of the suspicious garden expert,Judd.
