Description<br />
The Double Chip Interface H provides the capability to directly interface 2 chips together<br />
and is designed for use with the Linear Connector 4-way (Part No. 3000024) to provide<br />
eight fluidic connections to 1.6 mm OD tubing.<br />
An interface between 2 chips of dimensions 22.5 x 15 x 4 mm is achieved via a precision<br />
perfluoroelastomer gasket aligned with the micro-channels.<br />
One key application of the Double Chip Interface H is in double emulsion generation. This<br />
requires one hydrophilic droplet junction chip (Part No.’s 3000158 or 3000436) and one<br />
hydrophobic droplet junction chip (Part No.’s 3000301 or 3000437) for the production of<br />
droplets inside droplets.<br />

Double Emulsion Generation<br />
Double emulsions have many important applications in nutrition, cosmetics and the<br />
pharmaceutical industry. With this technology, an active ingredient or cell can be enclosed<br />
inside a protective outer layer.<br />
The Double Chip Interface H is designed to be used for interfacing droplet junction chips<br />
with hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface properties to enable double emulsion research.<br />
By selecting the correct configuration of hydrophobic and hydrophilic droplet junction<br />
chips, both water-in-oil-in-water and oil-in-water-in-oil droplets can be generated.<br />

The Double Chip Interface H is compatible with chips of dimensions 15 x 22.5 x 4 mm.<br />
