ABSTRACT:<br />
In this study, we present results of experiment that were <strong>de</strong><strong>si</strong>gned to evaluate biological<br />
approaches to control species of Torticidae in the oak forests of Romania. Our goal is<br />
to combine this tactic in an integrated system to manage this important group of pest<br />
insects.<br />
In Moldova region, Tortrix viridana L. (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) <strong>de</strong>veloped frequent<br />
outbreaks and was <strong>de</strong>tected in 2000-<strong>2004</strong>, on oak species: Quercus pedunculiflora,<br />
Quercus frainetto, Quercus robur, Quercus ses<strong>si</strong>lis, in Vrancea and GalaŃi.<br />
The effects of Tortrix viridana L. are largely <strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nt on the amount of foliage that<br />
has been consumed, the status of the tree prior to <strong>de</strong>foliation as well as the host<br />
species. Heavy infestation occurred in these regions in 2003.<br />
