<strong>Baltimore</strong> <strong>County</strong> re<strong>side</strong>nts are fortunate to have access to one <strong>of</strong> the nation’s top educational systems. <strong>The</strong><br />

county’s committed public schools, r<strong>an</strong>ge <strong>of</strong> private alternatives <strong>an</strong>d opportunities for higher education are<br />

second to none. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Baltimore</strong> <strong>County</strong> Public Schools are dedicated to providing a quality, comprehensive<br />

educational program designed to address the needs <strong>of</strong> a diverse student population. Building on current<br />

successes, the system’s Blueprint for Progress outlines the v<strong>is</strong>ion, m<strong>is</strong>sion, belief statements, perform<strong>an</strong>ce<br />

clear st<strong>an</strong>dards, quality instruction <strong>an</strong>d individual accountability. Implementing th<strong>is</strong> blueprint <strong>is</strong> essential to<br />

meeting state <strong>an</strong>d national st<strong>an</strong>dards <strong>an</strong>d accompl<strong>is</strong>hes the goals <strong>of</strong> increased student achievement <strong>an</strong>d<br />

continuous school improvement.<br />

Furthermore, the Chamber has <strong>an</strong> Education Committee that <strong>is</strong> compr<strong>is</strong>ed <strong>of</strong> local educators from the public<br />

<strong>an</strong>d private sector <strong>an</strong>d members <strong>of</strong> the business community who work together to promote communication<br />

between both groups for the good <strong>of</strong> the community. <strong>The</strong> focus <strong>of</strong> the committee <strong>is</strong> to foster working<br />

relationships between educators <strong>an</strong>d business leaders, which, in turn, affect the youth in our schools <strong>an</strong>d<br />

community. A shared v<strong>is</strong>ion enables the committee to learn, develop <strong>an</strong>d study ways that will enh<strong>an</strong>ce the<br />

outlook <strong>of</strong> our youth.<br />

A number <strong>of</strong> technical, private <strong>an</strong>d parochial schools are also available in the area.
