Metal forests grow,
Light shines bright into the night;
Into green waters.
Bouncing, bouncing crests,
Shrinking, shrinking day by day;
Good-bye precious pearl.
Looking for the Dragonfly

Flying in the sky

Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World

Spring is a good time for watching love films. The film “Crying Out Love, In the
Center of the World” uses recording tapes to bring out a love story of a couple in
their youth. At the same time it tells of the relationship of a man with two women
with many touching scenes.
This Japanese film explores a man’s memories about his girlfriend that died years
before as a result of a disease. “Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World”
alternates between the lost love of the past and the brave love of the present, which
enhances the plot immensely. The pure love content of the film touches the heart of
many.
Singing Contest

The singers’ performances were extraordinary, definite Hong Kong idol material. The
participants had prepared hard for the final; they all had wonderful performances.
We were delighted by the champions of the single and group contestants: Jennifer Li,
Don Chan and Emily Li. Jennifer handled the difficulty of her song well, and exhibited
great emotion through her euphonic voice. The group participants, Don and Emily,
were brilliant doing their performance.
Their rapping was just so impressive to
the audience, and the atmosphere built
up to an amazing climax! The audience
was definitely attracted by their calmness
and charm. Some even spontaneously
stood and clapped during the performance.
Although it was a drippy and cold night, the audience was very hot as the
participants gave us a very energetic performance. Of course, it was a fantastic
show. CIESS should hold functions like this for CIE students. Thanks!
