Steel can take on a variety of forms, answering the
needs of the times and supporting our everyday
lives. Japan's economic revival after World War II
and subsequent rise to advanced nation status
would not have been possible without a
sophisticated steel industry. Kawasho Corporation
was established in 1954 as a trading company for
JFE(formerly Kawasaki) Steel Corporation, a
blast furnace product manufacturer and exemplary
Japanese steel-maker. Since then, Kawasho has
sold steel products manufactured by JFE Steel
Corporation to heavy industry concerns including
ship builders, as well as to the automobile,
electrical and other industries. Over the years we
have also seriously expanded our sales area to
other countries while growing as a major
professional in the steel business.
More than fifty percent of Kawasho's business is
with thick steel plate for ships and bridges, steel
sheet for automobiles and home electrical
appliances as well as galvanized sheet used to
construct walls and roofs. In addition, we deal in
special steel for automobile parts and industrial
machinery, stainless steel, H-steel and steel rods
for construction and civil engineering, and a wide
range of steel pipes.

To maintain and increase the competitive strength
of the steel industry, world-scale integration and
capital tie-ups continues with steel makers.

Kawasho, whose core business is steel, is
addressing the circumstances with flexibility,
moving ahead through diversification into a wide
range of new businesses and services. We are
developing operations in each region with timeproven
regard for what is practical from the
customer's standpoint. Our system of operations
covers eight sectors of the country, namely
Hokkaido, Tohoku, Tokyo, Niigata, Shizuoka,
Nagoya, Osaka and Kyushu, and comprises a total
of over 200 companies intricately linked in the
"Kawasho-Kai" network.
