Meet Element 2.0
Upon it’s introduction to the market a little over three years ago; the Element, Visionaire Lighting’s flagship LED fixture,
simply took off. Now, after hundreds of Element projects have been installed around the globe, we’re taking our bestselling
LED luminaire and making it even better.
What’s New?
The Element II’s quality is visually apparent as soon as it is table‐topped alongside a competitor’s fixture.
Enhanced areas include:
• Aluminum end caps, which are die cast for strength; and enhanced with design elements for a pleasingly
sophisticated look.
• Additional, advanced optics that leap ahead of the competition; giving the Element II the leading edge in nearly every
desired application.
• More housing sizes for increased scale-ability.
• Two new low-profile end mount arms designed to enhance the beauty of the Element II while adding function for
higher lumen lighting applications.
Visionaire Lighting’s Evolution C
Technology Is All About Performance
The Element II incorporates the flexible Vision bar
technology which allows for LED fixture selection
from 24 LEDs all the way to 288 LEDs in 24 LED
increments
We at Visionaire Lighting have pioneered the highest
benchmark for Solid State Lighting (SSL) technology
in the industry.
We call this benchmark Evolution C; and we have
officially incorporated it into this release of our newest,
Element II family of LED luminaires.
Evo/C is the kind of comprehensive approach that only
a lighting manufacturer with a decade-plus of production can advance.
Evo/C is more than just the lumen output of LEDs -- it’s more than the driver -- and it’s more than the housing.
Evo/C is synergy. It’s picking the best of everything; and constructing parts in-house when what is available isn’t
good enough.
Evo/C is hiring the smartest engineers in the business to design, build, test; then re-test until a fixture meets Visionaire’s
exacting standards.
Evo/C is about vertical integration within our own plant - Made in the USA.
TESTED FOR LIFE
The secret to the Element II’s advanced efficiency is
superior heat reduction.
To get there, we built a powerhouse of a heat sink, and
designed it to make maximum use of the Venturi Effect.
Sinking the Heat – Successfully
In LED luminaires, the most critical areas to cool are the
junction points where the LEDs meet the circuit board.
The heat sink is used to draw heat away from these
points.
The Element II’s extruded aluminum heat sink is
substantial.
With a maximized fin ratio and precisely-mapped
channel distributions; thermal build-up peels away
from the Element II’s junction points, allowing for cooler
operation.
Feel the Breeze – the Venturi Effect
The Venturi Effect dictates that, with increased air flow,
heat transfer rates increase exponentially, removing heat
at ever-faster rates.
Hold your hand over the Element II, and feel it — that
rush of air rising up through the fixture, and out the top.
Engineering for this effect cools LEDs, drivers and
internal components; allowing the Element II to:
• Withstand higher ambient temperatures.
• Withstand higher drive currents.
• Achieve a low thermal resistance rating.
• Extend LED life.
This effect doesn’t occur with external, decorative heat
sinks -- like those found in competing products.
Combining heat sink technology with the Venturi Effect
produces a superior, long-lasting product with increased
light output.
Evolution C
Pioneering the Benchmark for Ultimate
LED Performance
Visionaire Lighting’s Evolution C benchmark of luminaires
features the highest-lumen-output Light Emitting Diodes
on the market, outfitted with our proprietary, cutting edge
optics (patents pending).
Here’s why:
1. Highest available lumens per watt for maximum
efficiency.
2. Improved CRI (Color Rendering Index) for truer colors.
3. Tighter color binning for maximum Kelvin uniformity.
4. Lower forward voltages means lower system watts for
increased efficiency (Lumens/Watt).
5. Longer life for 350 and 530 mA.
6. Marginal decreases in efficiency between 350 and
530 mA.
The Element II’s VisionBar TM LED light assemblies come in
multiples of 24 (minimum 24 to maximum 288 LEDs), and
are field replaceable.
No other outdoor lighting manufacturer can offer your project
more efficient, cost-effective and application-specific LED
lighting solutions.
Superior Kelvin and CRI
The Element II is offered in two highly desirable
Kelvin temperatures, 4000K and 5500K. We
have selected these two Kelvin temperatures as
standard because 4000K matches the Kelvin of
typical metal halide fixtures and 5500K yields a
bluer white color which enhances car dealerships
and lower wattage applications. Both Kelvins
have similar lumen output. The CRI of the 4000K
LEDs are 70 and the CRI of the 5500K LEDs are
75. Please consult factory for additional Kelvin
temperatures which can be ordered as well as
LEDs with higher CRIs.
The Color Rendering Index, or CRI, is a measure of
the quality of color light as the human eye sees it.
Driver Power
The Element II is powered by a choice of 350 or 530
mA high‐performance Constant Current Philips
Advance Xitanium LED drivers, which accept
120v thru 277v, 50 Hz to 60 Hz, input. Power
factor of 90%. Rated for -40 oC operations.
Expected life of the driver ranges from 100,000 to
150,000 hours.
1) The LED driver reduces output power to LEDs
if its maximum allowable case temperature is
exceeded.
2) The LED driver complies with UL standard
UL1012.
3) The LED driver has a Class A sound rating.
4) The LED drivers comes dimming enabled with
a 0-10 volt input.
5) The LED driver has a THD (Total Harmonic
Distortion) of less than 20%.
8.
Why Dim LEDs?
Dimming LEDs saves energy at an approximate 1:1 ratio.
This means by dimming the LEDs to 50% of their light
output, the LEDs’ energy usage will decrease by nearly
50%. Dimming LEDs also makes them run cooler, which
extends the life of the driver, as well as doubling or tripling
the LEDs lumen maintenance. Select the dimming type,
then schedule settings and, in the case of Dual Circuit,
add optional motion sensor. LED luminaires really earn
their worth when controls are applied. Consider choosing
one of the following options to achieve the ultimate return
on your investment.
1. Analog 0 – 10 Volt
A pre-installed 0 - 10 volt driver enables the fixture to be
operated by a separately-provided control system.
2. Dual Circuit (DC)
Separate driver circuits provide two levels of light
(high and low) without requiring a controller. Can be tied to
an optional motion sensor.
3. Event-Based Dimming (EB)
Luminaires arrive installed with controls that are preprogrammed
to trigger up to five, timed events of varying
dimming percentages.
See the Event-Based Dimming Example Chart below.
4. Wireless Controls (WC)
Enables event-based dimming to be modified remotely
after pre-programmed fixtures are installed.
• Triggers up to 32 events.
• Provides outage notifications.
• Monitors energy consumption.
Optional Motion Sensor
Activity close to the luminaire triggers an event of 100%
brightness lasting for several minutes. Afterwards,
illumination returns to the level of the current event.
Examples:
• Two drivers → a 50% reduction in output.
• Three drivers → a 33% or 67% reduction in output.
(LIFE) Let us Find the Perfect
Balance for Your Specific
Application
The L70 test determines the point in an LED’s life
when it reaches 70 percent of its initial output.
Element II series LEDs have been determined to
last 150,000+ hours in 40 o C environments when
driven at 350 mA.
At Visionaire Lighting, we have discovered that
the secret to the perfect LED fixture fit is to
determine the perfect balance between number of
VisionBars TM and the milliamps to drive them at.
More Lumens per Dollar
In an exceptionally well-cooled fixture like the
Element II, it becomes possible to drive fewer LEDs
at higher milliamps. Fewer LEDs putting out more
lumens creates the right amount of light for the job,
while at the same time reducing the initial cost of
the luminaire.
Housing
• The fixture housing is heavy-duty, extruded aluminum, with
heat radiating fins. A perforated aluminum top cover, beneath
a protective debris guard, protects the heat radiating fins
from contaminants and directs constant air flow over them for
maximum cooling.
Thermal Management
• The Element II provides excellent overall thermal management
by maximizing the fixture’s heat sink efficiency. This enables the
Element II to withstand higher ambient temperatures and drive
currents without degrading LED life. The Element II has a low
thermal resistance rating. The heat radiating fins and perforated
fixture components create superior thermal management results.
• The L70 test determines the point in an LEDs life when it reaches
70 percent of its initial output. Element II series LEDs have been
determined to last 150,000+ hours in 40 o C environments when
driven at 350 mA. See LED Data Chart for additional test results.
Optical System
• The highest lumen output LEDs available are utilized in the
Element II series. IES Types III and V distributions are standard.
The LED VisionBar TM light assemblies come in multiples of 24
(minimum 24 to maximum 288 LEDs) and are field replaceable.
The optical system qualifies as IES full cutoff; and is Dark-Sky
certified to restrict light trespass, glare and light pollution.
Quali-Guard ® Finish
• A Quali-Guard ® thermoset polyester powder coat painted finish
is available in white and custom colors.
Mounting - Area
•BOA- The cast aluminum Bolt-on Arm is shipped mounted to
the fixture. A pole plate is supplied for mounting to the pole; which
allows for quick and easy fixture installation with two set screws.
•WM- Galvanized steel wall mount bracket can be secured
directly to recessed junction box or the wall. The fixture is supplied
with a shortened arm bracket to keep the fixture closer to the wall.
•CM- Steel ceiling mount bracket can be secured directly to
recessed junction box, or to the ceiling. The housing hanger
bracket allows fixture to be suspended from ceiling bracket while
making wiring connection. The housing bracket then attaches
to the ceiling bracket via a tool-less latch. A tamper-proof screw
can then secure the bracket.
•KM- Knuckle Mount will mount over a 2⅜” horizontal or vertical
tenon and is field adjustable in increments of 5°
•MAF- Mast arm fitter is provided with a cast aluminum arm
adaptor designed to slip fit over a 1¼” to 2” horizontal tenon
(mast arm) and is adjustable +/- 5 degrees for fixture leveling.
