Dr. Douglas Brown is a 1984 graduate of the University
of Michigan, School of Dentistry. He has an established
clinical practice in Kalamazoo, MI.
Since 2002, Doug has served as the Director of Clinical
Education for both GC America and Bisco Inc. In these
capacities, he has been involved in the innovation and
implementation of preventive, adhesive and restorative
materials. Doug actively publishes and interacts with clinical
dentists worldwide.

Universally Defined Adhesives and Restorative Materials
with regenerative potential are playing an increasing role
in our practices. Many of the risk factors contributing to
clinical failures of our past may never again occur with
these chemically advanced materials.
This course will review previous risk factors, discuss the
chemical advantages of these materials, and explore the
principles, properties and techniques required for seamless
integration within your offices.
We will discuss and describe with patient cases, the
evidence-based principles of Direct and Indirect Adhesion
that allows us to maximize material placement protocols
and will minimize the risks that contribute to their failure.
Objectives:
• Discover advances in adhesive dentistry to improve
durability.
• Learn when to choose light cured, chemically cured and
dual-cured resins.
• Understand the need and explore simple techniques to
decontaminate and seal Indirect Substrate Surfaces.
