GUIDELINES FOR BRANCHES 

Objective: The primary purpose of this programme is to imbibe in the minds of children the idea of 

respecting their parents & teachers, whose blessings will enable them to be successful in life. 

Methodology : The following will be done at brach level.If local conditions so require, the branches 

are free to bring in changes in these guidelines by keeping the objective in focus. 

1. This programme is organised by the branches in schools, Colleges and other Institutions (SCIs) at a 

time convenient to their authorities on any day from 1st April to 15th Oct. 

2. In the beginning of the year, the branch should appoint a member as Convener to get this programme 

organized at all or most of the SCIs in and around the branch area. The branch can cover SCIs of 

other areas/villages also if no other branch is covering such schools, colleges or any other institutions. 

3. The Convener will form several groups, with a group leader, each consisting of 4 to 7 members by 

involving all the members of the branch (including spouses) and allot one or more SCIs to each group. 

It is to be ensured that the members visit at least one such SCI, which are in their neighbourhood. 

4. The group leader with some members of his group will visit the SCIs with BVP literature. 

a) He will explain the entire programme to the Principal or other authority and decide the date, time 

and venue for the programme. 

b) Ascertain the number of students & teachers of SCI and make sure that almost all of them attend 

the programme. 

c) Obtain the names, residential addresses and contact numbers of students who are to be honourd 

(Suggested criteria for selection are given on next page). And send invitations to their parents for 

their presence on the programme day. 

About 10 days in advance the group leader will send invitations to the students and their parents 

and inform the Press/Media about the programme for their coverage. He/She will also request for 

coverage under "Today's Engagement" column. 

5. About 2-3 days before the Programme, 3-4 banners will be put in and around the SCI premises that is 

to be visited. 

6. On the Programme day, he/she will carry certificates, flowers, banners, cameraman, etc. 

7. The Programme, preferably will be taken in General Assembly (wherever possible) and by and large it 

will be as follows: 

● Welcome by the School Principal. 

● Introduction of BVP and its activities at branch level by a BVP member. 

● Speech on significance of parents and Guru-by a BVP member. 

● Oath suggested hereunder to be taken by all the persons attending the programme.

All the Students wil pay their respect to all of their teachers and take their blessings by touching

SCIs which participated in GVCA and felicitate selected teachers and students. (If not already honoured 

in General Assembly)

G. Whose subject result was 100% in the last Board/University/Institution Examination.

A. Who has stood First in the Class. 

B. Who is School Captain or House Captain or Sports Captain, etc. 

C. Who has participated in the National/State/Parade on Independence Day or Republic day (15th August 

or 26th January) 

D. Who has scored highest marks in the school in any subject in the Board/University/Institution 

Examinations. 

E. Who has won in the National/State/Prestigious Competitions in any field. 

F. Who has been honoured by Central/State/Prestigious Institutions. 

G. Who possess Extra-ordinary talent in Sports, Cultural Activities, Painting, Arts & Crafts, Music, 

Debate etc. 

H. Who has taken part in NCC, Junior Red Cross, Scouts & Guides, Mountaineering etc. 

N.B. The programme should be held during the period 1st April to 15th October and report sent 

to Prant by 31st October.

SEMINARS 

In a democratic Society free and fair intellectual discourse is needed to generate new ideas and 

working methodologies for the development of the society and the nation. In the conference, people of 

diverse fields present their views and in the lectures people just listen and can hardly enquire about a 

point. The mutual interaction remains scarce.Therefore to strengthen SAMPARK program with energetic 

and determined young graduates, post graduates, research scholars, professional graduates and other 

intellectual groups of the society, BVP decided to hold seminars on the contemporary subjects of national 

interest and welfare of humanity in the Institutions of Higher Education. 

WHY THE SEMINARS 

(a) Young and Energetic India: India is emerging as a world power. The economy is booming, flow 

of ideas is free and 70% population of India is young. It has largest scientific and technical man power in 

the world and is getting ready to land on the moon. It has nuclear power and controlled devices and leading 

in the information technology and software industry. Industrial sector is growing, buying industries in the 

world and developing innovative technologies. Education and medical sectors are expanding to reach 

every one. There is revolution in connectivity through roads, trains, air and electronic media. 

(b) Spiritual Superiority: World bodies are accepting our spiritual knowledge, Ayurvedic treatment 

and Yog Vidya, Fine arts, music and dance are being appreciated, and Vedas and Upnishads are being 

studied. Modern science is converging to Indian philosophy. Indian minds are consistently proving their 

superiority in all walks of life. If Einstein gave the mass-energy relation for technological revolution, 

Gandhi gave the message of Truth and Non-Violence for universal peace and prosperity. 

(c) Alienation of young educated: The young educated is unaware of our ancient language Sanskrit, 

Rashtra Bhasha Hindi and even their own mother tongue. They know little about Vedas, Upanishads, 

Ramayana, Mahabharat, Geetanjali and other great epics of all time and glorious past of India. Their 

knowledge of Indian mathematics, science, medicine, agriculture, philosophy, music and dance is limited. 

The fragmentary way of western life is their role model and sometimes they even hesitate to say that they 

are proud Indians. 

The basic principles of Indian culture are sound and based on truth and morality. But culture is ever 

expanding and developing. We must keep our windows open to new ideas but should remain firmly rooted 

in our fundamentals. 

EXISTING STUDENTS CONTACT PROGRAMS 

BVP has NGSC, BKJ, BAL SANSKAR and SAKSHARTA projects which operate in the schools upto 

+2 levels. SEWA projects are for the general public. However BPV has no program for the students and 

teachers in the Higher Education Institutions and other intellectual groups of the society. 

SEMINAR IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES 

The students in these institution have voting right. All the political parties have active youth branches 

in these institutions. At the same time, students in these institutions are in a very sensitive age group. 

They are independent, self motivated, very energetic and trying their best to attain their goals. In general 

they know what they are doing and they are determined to achieve it. The intellectuals are the guiding 

forces. This group of young graduates and intellectuals will lead the nation in the coming decades. BVP 

has taken up the contact program through Seminars in this vibrant atmosphere. 

ORGANIZATION OF SEMINARS 

1. Aim : The aim is two fold : (a) to convince the young mind that you are the great citizens of India 

(Shreshtha Bhartiya Nagrik). You are the blessed ones that you are born and brought up in BHARAT 

BHUMI. (b) to reinforce Bhartiya Sanskar in the young, educated and intellectuals of the society. 

2. Targets: (a) Young college/University students: Graduates, postgraduates, Research Scholars,

Professional graduates: Medical Engineering, Polytechnics, Computers, Business, Law, Pharmacy 

and other branches. (b) Intellectuals of the society: Teachers, Advocates, Doctors, Engineers, Chartered 

Accountants, Journalists, Authors, Artists etc. 

3. Subject of Seminars: Seminar is a part of SAMPARK program. Therefore, the choice of subjects 

should be pertinent to the audience and the speaker. The students and intellectuals in these institutions 

may like to listen on the subjects of current interest in the fields of economy, management, science 

and technology, sports, prevailing social and political problems and other matters of national and 

international interest. The seminars on moral ethics will greatly influence the young minds. However 

the subject matter of these seminars should not violate our cultural and social value system. 

4. Seminar Venue: The campus of Colleges, Universities and other Institutions of Higher Education. 

5. Nature of Seminars: (a) One or Two Hour Seminar Programs: One or two hour seminars by 

eminent speakers should be held, preferably in the evening on working days in the campuses of 

Educational Institutions for a large number of students and teachers. 

(b) Lectures by Eminent persons: Lecture by a person of eminence on the subject of his specialty 

in the campus of educational institutions, for the benefit of the society. 

6. Financial Obligations: Parishad will have to bear all the expenses for the preparations of seminars 

including invitation cards, stage decoration, banners, mementos and TA/DA of speakers. The Prant 

and Branch Adhikaris will take the final decision. 

7. Approach to the Institution: A committee of two/three members of BVP should contact the teachers 

of the institution and convince them to hold the seminar on subjects of students’ genuine interest by 

learned speakers. They must be told that BVP will bear the financial burden and the institution will 

provide infrastructural facilities. The speaker should be an authority on the subject and should command 

respect from both the teachers and the students. The formal permission should be taken from the 

Head of the Institution. Invitations should be extended to all the teachers and students of the institution 

along with other BVP members. The members of the institution must be given respectful recognition 

in the program. 

8. Schedule for seminar: The seminar should start with (a) Deep Prajwalan (b) Rashtra Geet (c) Brief 

introduction of BVP (d) Brief introduction of speakers (e) At the end Rashtra Gaon 

Arrangements of Coffee/Tea before or after the seminar as the situation demands. 

9. Record: Efforts should be made to have a written manuscript of about 1200 words from the speakers. 

If that is not possible short hand writer/tape recorder may be used to record the lecture. It can be 

typed, edited, and the manuscript should be approved by the speaker. 

10. Report: Report should be sent to the Central Office BVP Delhi within a week from the date of seminar 

under the following heads: Zone, Prant, Branch, Day & Date of seminar. Name, Designation & address 

of the speaker, Name and address of the Institution. Subject and abstract of seminar and attendance. 

AN APPEAL 

Each year, each prant should hold at least 2 to 3 seminars in different institutes of higher learning 

in different cities.

Chandigarh South-I : GVCA was organized 

in Government Model Senior Secondary School, 

Sector 47 on 26.02.2011. Dr. K.L. Passi, Patron of 

Zone-1, was the Chief Guest and Monica Maini 

Principal of the school presided. 6 students of the 

school who stood first, second and third in classes 

8th and 10th were honoured. Two teachers who are 

incharge of Bharat Vikas programmes in the school 

were also honoured. Nearly 200 students and 50 

teachers participated. Students presented flowers

Greater Kailash-1 : On 20.02.2011 the branch 

organized a free Viklang Sahayata & Punarvas 

camp at Arya Samaj, GK-1 for distribution of 

Artificial limbs, 25 Hearing Aids, 11 Tricycles, 7 

wheel chairs, 4 Bicycles, 1 orthopaedic shoe, 50 

sewing machines (mainly to poor widows), 10 

cataract operations, 4 spectacles, 10 steel buckets. 

The expenditure on the entire camp was about Rs. 

2.50 lakh which was donated by several generous 

donors. Over 300 beneficiaries and guests were 

present in the funcion which was graced by Shri 

Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Hon'ble Opposition Leader,

and Sanskar being done by the selfless members

Dr. Tuli also mentioned about the organization 'Amar 

Jyoti Charitable Trust' by foundedher which too was 

doing the work of rehabilitating disabled persons in 

one way or the other. 

A few other events of the function were (a) 

releasing a book written by Mansoor Abdullah on 

Shrimad Bhagwad Gita through the hands of the chief 

guest and (b) branch's honouring with shawls & 

bouquet R.C. Puri, Adviser and Smt. Promila Grover, 

Treasurer for their whole hearted devotion to public 

service and enhancing the working standard of the 

branch in all respects. The function was well 

organized and conducted by Vijay Gupta, senior V. 

President, the convenor of the camp and Ashu Kavi 

with the spontaneously composed poetic style. 

Dholak. A blind couple was provided with a LPG 

Gas connection. Scholarships of 2500/- each to 

differently abled students of BRM school were 

provided at a total cost of above Rs. 2.50 lakhs to 

beneficiaries crossing 80.

Vijayawada : Branch distributed 58 artificial 

limbs to the needy on 27.02.2011. Shri Gaurav 

Uppal, Joint Collector Krishna District was the chief 

guest. Shri Sridhar, CEO of Data Management 

Centre, Nellore and Shri U.N. Yadgiri Chief Regional 

Manager, IOB were the guests of honour. The entire 

progamme was sponsored by SHR Charitable Trust, 

Nellore. Nearly 150 persons including members 

attended the programme. 

PUNJAB NORTH 

Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana : In association with 

BVP Charitable Trust organized a Viklang Sahayata 

camp on 13.02.2011 at Viklang Sahayata Kendra, 

Ludhiana. On this occasion artificial limbs/calippers 

were given to about 40 needy persons. Shri 

Ravinder Mittal, President of the branch motivated 

them not to feel handicapped but become mentally 

strong and try to make great achievements. The 

camp was sponsored by Keea International 

Ludhiana, who had contributed Rs. 11,000/- for 

Viklang Sahayata. Shri Raveesh Moudgil, from 

Keea International was the Guest of Honour. Shri 

Yash Pal Gupta, National Secretary presided over 

the function. The function was attended by more 

than 200 persons. Smt. Alka Mohan, was the 

compere and Smt. S. Sud presented vote of thank.

Brahmapur : Branch organized free health 

care programme at Dharakote of Ganjam District 

which is about 50 k.m. away from the city on 

February 12th and 13th, 2011. The Ayurvedic Doctor, 

Dr. Hrusikesh Padhy, a member of the branch, 

organized the camp in the premises of Anatha 

Ashram of Dharakote. About 200 patients were 

examined and provided with the medicines. 

Puri : Branch organised one blood donation 

camp on 26th January 2011. 35 units of blood was 

collected by the District Red Cross. 20 members 

of BVP donated blood. After the Republic Day 

Parade the Minister of the State, District Collector, 

District Chief medical officer visited the camp and 

praised the attempt of the members of BVP. 

DELHI EAST 

The members of BVP with the active support 

of family Trust of Sh. S.S. Jain inaugurated 'Seth 

Tarif Sigh Jain Diagnostic Centre' at its Tahirpur, 

Dilshad Garden Viklang Sahayata Kendra. The 

National Working President Shri I.D. Ojha graced 

the occasion as a chief speaker. The diagnostic 

centre will provide Path Lab facilities, Ultra Sound 

and X-ray facilities at very nominal charges. The 

major donor, trustees and members attended the 

function. 

JAMMU & KASHMIR 

Jammu East : conducted free medical checkup 

camp in collaboration with Indian Red Cross 

Society in front of Red Cross Complex, Kachi 

Chowni, Jammu. Three checks for different 

diseases in common masses i.e. Diabetes 

Detection, blood grouping & blood pressure were 

performed. 126 persons were benefitted. About 35 

persons were tested+ve for Diabetes. The branch 

intends to conduct at least 05 more such medical 

camps in slum areas duly identified for this purpose. 

GUJARAT NORTH 

Patan : Branch organised complete body 

check-up camp, on concessional rates for only Rs. 

500/- on 13.03.2011 in coordination with thiro care 

lab patan. 165 members took the benefit. Branch 

President J.V. Patel, Secretary Kamal Chandana, 

and Project Coordinator Dr. Shaileshbhai Sompura, 

worked hard for the success of the camp. 

Paldi Amdavad : Branch organised Prathmik 

Saravar Kendra medical camp at Khatraj Circle, 

Mahemdabad. About 3600 padayatris took benefit 

of medicine & Dressing treatment during three days 

day and night without break. In this Holy festival 

about 7 to 8 Lakh devotees go to Dakor for Shri 

Ranchhodas Darshan. They had observed this 

medical camp while passing on road. So Seva & 

Publicity of BVP was also performed.

Glucoma Eye care camp was organised by 

Prant at Ratilal Patel Hall, Kankaria, Ahmedabad 

on 11.03.2011 by Health and Eye care Incharge

Malerkotla : Branch organized free 

Homeopathic medical check-up camp at village 

Manak Majra. Dr. Paramjit Singh DHO was the Chief

C-Block Janakpuri : The branch organised a 

free Eye & Dental checkup camp of the school children 

of MCD Primary School in the first week of Feb. 2011. 

Free toothpaste, toothbrush & exercise books were 

presented to all the children. In addition free spects 


and medicines were also provided to children who 

had defects in their hearing/sight. The camp continued 

for 6 days where Dental Surgeon & eye specialist 

made available their services free of charge.One 

Tricycle costing about Rs. 5000/- was 

also donated on 26.02.2011 to one handicap person 

who had lost both his legs. The cost was shared with 

one of our lady member of the branch in the presence 

of Shri. S.K. Chaudhary. Shri R.K. Thakur Chief 

Adviser & Patron of BVP Smt. Surabhi Singhal shared 

the cost of Tricycle along with all the functionaries of 

the branch committee. General Body meeting of the 

branch was organised on 26th Feb. 2011 where about 

50 members were present. Foundation day of Geeta 

Mandir was celebrated by organizing Geeta 

Pravachan. 

Vikas Puri : Basant Panchami was 

celebrated on 8th Feb. 2011. In the morning 

Saraswati Mata Pujan was done in Gauri Shankar 

Temple, DG-II alongwith students of adjoining 

schools and most of the senior members of the 

branch. Basanti Rice, cooked and sweetened were 

distributed to about 500 devotees and children of 

the adjoining areas of labour basties. 

HARYANA NORTH 

Panchkula : International Women's Day was 

observed on 8th March in Swami Vivekananda hall 

by women wing of branch by performing Yagya by 

Acharya Sharavan Kumar. Dr. Usha Chandana 

spoke on the role and place of women in the Indian 

Society. Mrs. Prem Sekhri, Mahila Pramukh 

emphasised that women should be equal partners 

in real sense of the word and should use their 

inherent strength to uplift the down-trodden and

donated 5000/- to one patient as medical aid.

Meeting of State Executive Committee was 

held on 09.01.2011 in Shastri Model School, Mohali 

in which 42 members participated. The General 

Secretary Shri S.C. Galhotra presented the State 

achievements and congratulated the members for

Conference being No.1 The meeting was graced 

by the presence of National Secretary General Shri

Pandhy delivered lecture on the life of Shaheed 

Bhagat Singh and other Martyrs. Members of BVP

Filmcity, Mumbai Malad East : Branch 

launched exclusive website of Filmcity branch on 

the eve of new year. The site contains past and 

future projects of the branch with Photo Gallary. 

Besides details about members, it also has 

clippings of news published in newspapers and our 

magazine Niti. Link of the site is as below

ASSAM 

Karimganj : Branch organized pure drinking 

water project on 4th February, 2011 and distributed 

pure drinking water to the devotees who participated 

in the procession on the occasion of opening 

ceremony of newly constructed Shri 

Radha Mohan Temple. More than 5000 devotees 

were provided with pure drinking water. 

Donated one steel bookcase and books to 

Karimganj Law College on 16.03.2011. The 

same was handed over to Md. Abdul Basit 

Choudhury, Principal in the presence of large 

number of members, where some members 

spoke on the occasion and praised the activites 

of BVP. Entire project was initiated and 

sponsored by our Ex. President Shri Mrinal 

Kanti Dutta in memory of his beloved father late 

Shailendra Shekhar Dutta. 


A.P. EAST 

Anakapalle Central : Branch conducted 

medical check-up on 1.2.2011 and distributed 

medicines to the school children. Medicines were 

given by local whole sale dealers and Dr. Sreedharala 

Lakshminarayana Gupta. Nearly 300 persons 

attended the camp. The venue was M.H. School 

Anakapalle. On 04.02.2011 G. Brahmam, Additional 

District Probation Officer street children welfare office 

AP Goverment, delivered a speech on the role of 

the officer how well they catch the street children 

and hand them over to the Government orphan 

schools established at Shrikakulam, Vizanagram 

and Visakhapatnam District Centers. The venue was 

YMVA SVR Memorial hall. On 25.02.2011 Smt. 

Indirabala, famous harikatha Bhagavathrini, AIR and 

TV A1 Grade, TTD Nadaneerajana, Rashtra kala 

nirajana puraskar awardee, delivered a speech on 

Harikatha ki Aadhyatmiktah. The couple was 

honoured with Shawls and mementos. The venue 

was YMVA SVR Memorial Hall. 

KARNATAKA NORTH 

The second zonal coordination committee 

meeting of zone XVI was held on 16.02.2011 hosted 

by Hospet brach at Thosophical women college's 

library hall. Minutes of the last meeting held on 

14.08.2010, Secretary's report, Finance Secretary's 

Financial report were duly appoved. The zone 

chairman asked the General Secretaries of both 

prants to work for the growth and development of 

the prants. Karnataka South has taken a big project 

of Viklang manufacturing and rehabilitation centre 

at Bangalore at a cost of 157 lakhs. Shri N.D. 

Doulath Rao, Nagaraj and Krishnappa gave the 

details of the poject. Dr. Pramod W Basarkar Org. 

Sec. of North prant promised Rs. 11000/- as his 

contribution. 

In a glittering function held on 27th March 

2011 presided over by Shri B.C. Krishnappa the 

out-going President, Shri N. Daulath Rao, National 

Additional Organising Secretary administered the 

oath of office to the new office bearers of the year 

2011-12 Shri A.S. Nataraj President, Shri T.K. 

Ravindran General Secretary, and Shri B.V. Rao 

Treasurer along with the nominated Vice president, 

Joint Secretary and conveners for the various 

projects. P.V. Krishana Bhat, National Convener, 

'Pragjna Pravah' and Hon'ble member of Karnataka 

Legislative Council was the chief guest of the 

function. Dr. B.D. Patel National Secretary, 

Sampark, gave an audio-visual presentation of the 

unique Viklanga Sahayata (Bhavana) Project 

recently undertaken. Prant had made a fervent 

appeal for raising resources for fulfillment of the 

project recently estimated to cost about 2 Lakh. 

The Chief Guest, Shri P.V. Krishna Bhat in his 

emotion-charged inspiring speech dwelt at length 

about the over-exploitation of earth's resources, 

rampant commercialisation prevalent in certain 

Service Organisations having a global tag, and 

stressed the importance of preserving our culture 

in all our Seva activites and lauded the 

achievements of the parishad in all its five unique 

missions. 

ORISSA 

Puri : Branch arranged a stall during car festival 

of Lord Jagannath and provided lemon and curd water 

to the pilgrims from morning to evening. 

JHARKHAND 

Bokaro Thermal : Branch celebrated Holi milan 

on 21.03.2011 at Station Club. About 25 members 

were present and used Abir and Gulal to each-other.

A.K. Tiwary, Er. U.S. Thakur, Er. R. Ram V.L.

Branch celebrated Navasamvatsar 2068 on 

04.04.2011 at Station club. Branch Secretary Er. 

Rajeev Ranjan presented annual report for the year 

2010-11. 10 men and 10 women, who were the most 

needy were offered 10 Dhotis and 10 Sarees resp. 

ZOS Er. G.P. Singh presented mementos of Vikas 

Mitra to Er. P.K. Ambastha and Er. R.N. Tiwari. 

State G.S. Sri P.K. Ambastha administered the oath 

to 12 office bearers of the branch and 5 office 

bearers of Gaimajrua Gramin branch. Shri D.P. 

Verma of Gayatri Pariwar outlined at length the 

spiritual aspects of Navsamvatsar. The programme 

was conducted by Smt. Rinky Prasad. The notable 

persons present were Er. A.P. Singh, Shri A.K. 

Tiwari, Shri Suman Kumar, Shri Balmukund 

Prajapati & others.
