Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities, Govt.<br />

of India as main speaker, Shri O.P. Sharda,<br />

Councillor, Yogesh Munjal, Industrialist and Samaj<br />

Sewi, B.L. Parashar, National Secretary, and R.K.<br />

Taneja, President, Arya Samaj.<br />

Shri V.P. Agarwal, President of the branch, in<br />

his welcome address, briefed the audience about<br />

the activities of BVP in general and Viklang Sahayata<br />

& Punarvas shivir in particular. Smt. Promila Grover,<br />

Treasurer, read out the names of donors.<br />

Th Chief Guest, the main speaker and the<br />

Councillor appreciated the excellent work of Sewa<br />

and Sanskar being done by the selfless members<br />

of BVP and assured full support to the organization.<br />

Dr. Tuli also mentioned about the organization 'Amar<br />

Jyoti Charitable Trust' by foundedher which too was<br />

doing the work of rehabilitating disabled persons in<br />

one way or the other.<br />

A few other events of the function were (a)<br />

releasing a book written by Mansoor Abdullah on<br />

Shrimad Bhagwad Gita through the hands of the chief<br />

guest and (b) branch's honouring with shawls &<br />

bouquet R.C. Puri, Adviser and Smt. Promila Grover,<br />

Treasurer for their whole hearted devotion to public<br />

service and enhancing the working standard of the<br />

branch in all respects. The function was well<br />

organized and conducted by Vijay Gupta, senior V.<br />

President, the convenor of the camp and Ashu Kavi<br />

with the spontaneously composed poetic style.<br />

Dholak. A blind couple was provided with a LPG<br />

Gas connection. Scholarships of 2500/- each to<br />

differently abled students of BRM school were<br />

provided at a total cost of above Rs. 2.50 lakhs to<br />

beneficiaries crossing 80.<br />

A.P. EAST<br />

Vijayawada : Branch distributed 58 artificial<br />

limbs to the needy on 27.02.2011. Shri Gaurav<br />

Uppal, Joint Collector Krishna District was the chief<br />

guest. Shri Sridhar, CEO of Data Management<br />

Centre, Nellore and Shri U.N. Yadgiri Chief Regional<br />

Manager, IOB were the guests of honour. The entire<br />

progamme was sponsored by SHR Charitable Trust,<br />

Nellore. Nearly 150 persons including members<br />

attended the programme.<br />

PUNJAB NORTH<br />

Dr. Kitchlu, Ludhiana : In association with<br />

BVP Charitable Trust organized a Viklang Sahayata<br />

camp on 13.02.2011 at Viklang Sahayata Kendra,<br />

Ludhiana. On this occasion artificial limbs/calippers<br />

were given to about 40 needy persons. Shri<br />

Ravinder Mittal, President of the branch motivated<br />

them not to feel handicapped but become mentally<br />

strong and try to make great achievements. The<br />

camp was sponsored by Keea International<br />

Ludhiana, who had contributed Rs. 11,000/- for<br />

Viklang Sahayata. Shri Raveesh Moudgil, from<br />

Keea International was the Guest of Honour. Shri<br />

Yash Pal Gupta, National Secretary presided over<br />

the function. The function was attended by more<br />

than 200 persons. Smt. Alka Mohan, was the<br />

compere and Smt. S. Sud presented vote of thank.<br />

Alaknanda : 27th February 2011, was a very<br />

special day for the branch when at the initiative of<br />

Smt. Shashi Azad, General Secretary, the<br />

distribution camp for the physically challanged was Lucknow : Like every year a Nihshulk Viklang<br />

held in Arya Samaj Mandir, GK-II. A.K. Tripathi, Sahayata Shivir was organized on 24.03, to<br />

Tricycles, 12 Walkers, Vaishakhies, Elbow creches, handicapped were benefitted in the camp. The<br />

surgical shoes, 1 Water Mattress, 6 Sewing equipments amounting to around Rs. 11 Lacs were<br />

The blind students, being supported by the branch camp was organized by the branch at Nidan<br />

for several years in their education were given, 11 Diagnostic Centre, at Gomtinagar. The health check<br />
