Product description<br />

DataPro-RS485-Tr has been designed<br />

for the protection of RS485<br />

interfaces.<br />

Due to its high discharge capacity<br />

of 20 kA (line-to-ground, wave form<br />

8/20 µs) and to its easy installation<br />

on a DIN rail, it can be used universally.<br />

It consists of a two-stage protective<br />

circuit with gas-filled arresters used<br />

as primary protection. The fine protection<br />

is effected exclusively by<br />

filters and suppressor diodes. There<br />

are no significant leakage currents<br />

due to the absence of varistors,<br />

making remote alarm contact for<br />

fault indication and regular control<br />

checks unnecessary. In the event of<br />

an overload, the suppressor diodes<br />

will provoke a short-circuit (fail-safe)<br />

that will continue to protect the<br />

connected equipment and send a<br />

default message to the system.<br />
