1. The Ministry <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Defence, Government <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> India, intends to acquire<br />

One <str<strong>on</strong>g>Training</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Indian Coast Guard.<br />

2. This Request <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> In<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>mati<strong>on</strong> (<str<strong>on</strong>g>RFI</str<strong>on</strong>g>) c<strong>on</strong>sists <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> two parts as indicated<br />

(a) Part I. The first part <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the <str<strong>on</strong>g>RFI</str<strong>on</strong>g> incorporates operati<strong>on</strong>al<br />

characteristics and features that should be met by the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Training</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />

Few important technical parameters <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the proposed <str<strong>on</strong>g>Training</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

are also menti<strong>on</strong>ed.<br />

(b) Part II. The sec<strong>on</strong>d part <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>RFI</str<strong>on</strong>g> states the methodology <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

seeking resp<strong>on</strong>se <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g>yards.<br />

PART –I<br />

3. The Intended Use <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Training</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g> (Operati<strong>on</strong>al Requirements).<br />

Appendix C (Appendix E <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Chapter I <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> DPP-08), and Appendix D <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

this document. Apart from filling details about <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g>yards, details about the<br />

exact vessel meeting our generic technical specificati<strong>on</strong>s should also be<br />

carefully filled. Additi<strong>on</strong>al literature <strong>on</strong> the vessel can also be attached<br />

with the <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>m. Further following details are to be submitted:-<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g>yards. The end user <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Training</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Ship</str<strong>on</strong>g> is the Indian Coast Guard.<br />

7. This in<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g>mati<strong>on</strong> is being issued with no financial commitment and the<br />

Ministry <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Defence reserves the right to change or vary any part there <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> at any<br />

stage. The Government <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> India also reserves the right to withdraw it should it be<br />

so necessary at any stage. The acquisiti<strong>on</strong> process would be carried out under<br />

the provisi<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> DPP- 2008.

OPERATIONAL/TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR<br />

ONE TRAINING SHIP FOR INDIAN COAST GUARD<br />

1. Primary Role. To provide basic sea training to Coast Guard Officer<br />

Cadets.<br />

2. Sec<strong>on</strong>dary Role. Search and Rescue. To detect and prosecute hostile<br />

craft in area <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> operati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

3. Length. To commensurate to t<strong>on</strong>nage and draught .<br />

4. Displacement. Not more than 3500 T<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

5. Draught. Hull draught not exceeding 4 mtrs in fully laden state.<br />

6. Speed.<br />

(a) Maximum speed at full load displacement to be not less than<br />

20 knots at 92% MCR.<br />

Cruising Speed (<strong>on</strong> single shaft) – 15 knots.<br />

7. Endurance. Not less than 5000 NM at cruising speed.<br />
