A career
with global focus
Her career with Lundbeck has to date led Italian-Canadian
Lorena Di Carlo across the Atlantic from Montreal to
Copenhagen, and then down under to Sydney.
Lorena Di Carlo had only been with Lundbeck
Canada as a CNS Specialist for six months
when she took on the role of Associate
Product Manager with responsibility for the
nation-wide launch of Celexa®/Cipramil®. The
ensuing launch became the most successful
introduction of a new antidepressant on the
Canadian market, with Lundbeck Canada
experiencing almost explosive growth.
“We were 10 employees when I was hired in
1995, and 140 a couple of years later,” Lorena
recalls, admitting that she knew only very little
about Lundbeck when she was hired and met
with the words: “Welcome to Lundbeck. You’re
our first staff member in North America.” At
that time she had been working three years in
sales. Lorena was enthusiastic about being part
of the founding team of a new company in
Canada whose mission is to improve the
quality of life of people with psychiatric and
neurological disorders. Her career took off
immediately, and she became Vice President of
Marketing at Lundbeck Canada before her
career led her to Denmark and, most recently,
to Sydney in Australia.
