Amanda Jefferies<br />

Amanda Jefferies is a <strong>University</strong> Teaching Fellow and a<br />
Principal Lecturer in the School <strong>of</strong> Computer Science at<br />
the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hertfordshire</strong>. She is seconded to the<br />
Blended Learning Unit (CETL), where she is Evaluation<br />
Coordinator and leads on Scholarship, Research and<br />
Evaluation. Her own research interests relate to students‟<br />
experiences <strong>of</strong> using technology to support learning.<br />
Phil Porter<br />

Phil Porter is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography<br />
and has been active in glaciological research since<br />
1993. After completing a PhD (Leeds) in borehole<br />
instrumentation <strong>of</strong> fast flowing glaciers, Phil took up<br />
lectureships at Manchester and Leeds and joined the<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hertfordshire</strong> in 2003. His current research<br />
interests concern the response <strong>of</strong> the cryosphere to<br />
environmental change. Phil is also a LTI teacher taking<br />
a lead on „research informed teaching‟.<br />
