The Inaugural Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame Horse and Heritage
Expo in Longreach is a four day event celebrating Australian rural heritage.
It recognises the contribution of the horse to the nation’s history, and will
showcase Australian horse sports in the modern era.
Tradition will play a big role with displays including pack horse handling,
hobbling, station buck jumps, breaking demonstrations and other horse
related skills. A Campdraft will feature a total prize pool of $120,000.
To add to the Australian pride of the event, the sports of polocrosse and
bronco branding will also be exhibited. Gates open at 0800.
Join in this momentous outback event with a journey onboard the Spirit of
the Outback to Longreach.

The Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival is four days
of fun and fashion, built around two days of horse
racing in Cairns in early September each year.
What began as a small meeting in 1959, designed
to bring city and country together, has expanded
over the years to become one of Australia’s premier
spring horse racing carnivals.
55 years on, the Cairns Amateurs is now
complemented by a host of social activities, some
formal and some very informal including a number
of Members-only and corporate functions as well
as events and areas for the general public on both
race days.

friends have gathered in Birdsville for a two day race
meeting.
Now an internationally recognised major outback
event, the carnival includes a 12-race program and
prize money in excess of $110,000.
The Birdsville race track is one of four tracks in
Queensland which runs anti-clockwise, attracting
crowds of over 6,000 racegoers each year.
