Wood is a natural product which is exposed to all weather conditions.
Due to this splits and cracks can develop, especially in roundwood. This does not affect its quality.
After a period of rain the cracks will close for the greater part.
Hardwood
Tuindeco’s type of hardwood Bangkirai is directly purchased and processed in its factory into the end product.
Continually Tuindeco staff is present for optimal quality control. Bangkirai is the best known type of hardwood, mainly because it is esthetically a splendid type of
wood. It is included in sustainability class 1-2 and has an approx. 20-30 life. The voluminous mass is approx. 850-1050 kg/m 3 at 12% humidity.
Bangkirai can easily be cut, sawn and planed, in spite of its tremendous hardness. Bangkirai has no tendency to distort and is therefore very suitable for
applications in the garden. With the exception of occasionally occurring pin holes (little wormholes), small resin pockets and a few surface cracks, the wood is
practically flawless. Bangkirai is used for bridges, bridge surface, pergolas, decking, scaffolding, fencing, screens, etc.
Rough-drilling is required. Stainless steel is recommended. Generally, hardwood contains a substance that can cause the so-called “leaking”.
Pavement or cemented walls lying below can be affected.
