<strong>Roswell</strong> Mall Improvements: LaSalsa<br />

Restaurant opened inside the Mall, while<br />

the Mall owners work to get national<br />

retailers into the old Wal-Mart, a furniture<br />

outlet north <strong>of</strong> JC Penney’s and another<br />

restaurant to take over the old Pasta Café.<br />

Nothing new to report.<br />

Out-Parcels for Sam’s & Wal-Mart:<br />

Ashley Furniture is looking to locate north<br />

<strong>of</strong> Wal-Mart at Pine Lodge and North<br />

Main Street. A new strip plaza is going<br />

into the out parcel south <strong>of</strong> Sam’s and I<br />

expect to have more information on the<br />

retailers soon. Checker Auto is in front <strong>of</strong><br />

the Sam’s Club and Starbuck’s is in front<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Wal-Mart SuperCenter. Nothing<br />

new to report.<br />

<strong>Roswell</strong> Regional Hospital: The General<br />

Contractor is waiting for the go-ahead to<br />

remodel the interior <strong>of</strong> the building on<br />

19th Street, whose tenants will relocate<br />

into the Hospital. Once remodel work<br />

begins, reconstruction work will take<br />

about four months. Nothing new to<br />

report. (This is located 1-block east <strong>of</strong> Main Street<br />

on the north side <strong>of</strong> 19th)<br />

Berrendo Center I: The strip plaza<br />

work has been completed and Route<br />

21 will be moving in next to Famous<br />

Footwear. This plaza also includes<br />

PetCo. The developer is working to<br />

complete the out parcel shell closest to<br />

Main Street for future tenants. Nothing<br />

new to report.<br />

(This is located south <strong>of</strong> the Rib Crib<br />

and north <strong>of</strong> the Berrendo River)<br />

Berrendo Center II: We met the<br />

architect and engineer on-site on 4-20-07<br />

to discuss the new Berrendo Center II<br />

development. This will bring in Discount<br />

Tire, possibly a Blockbuster Video and<br />

other national and local retailers when<br />

built-out. We expect to see construction<br />

plans submitted for a Building Permit by<br />

late June or early July. Nothing new to<br />

report. (This is located south <strong>of</strong> the Berrendo River<br />

on the east side <strong>of</strong> North Main Street)<br />

<strong>New</strong> Burger King @ Old Post Plaza:<br />

We met with the developer on 4-10-07.<br />

Burger King submitted a letter-<strong>of</strong>-intent<br />

to locate between the Hasting’s and<br />

Walgreens on North Main Street. The<br />

site developer is also seeking retailers to<br />

build out Phases III & IV. Nothing new to<br />

report. (Located south <strong>of</strong> Walgreen’s across Main<br />

St. from NMMI)<br />

John Hinkle’s - ALL ABOUT SPAS:<br />

The building shell has been completed<br />

and the rough-in work is well under way.<br />

The site work is also beginning to take<br />

shape. (Located on west side <strong>of</strong> north Main Street,<br />

just south <strong>of</strong> the Berrendo River)<br />

Starbucks C<strong>of</strong>fee North: The Building<br />

was turned-over to Starbucks, so they<br />

can finish the interior, hire employees,<br />

train and open for business. They had to<br />

finish multiple stores in Las Cruces before<br />

they could get started on the two <strong>Roswell</strong><br />

stores. Nothing new to report.<br />

Mart Super Center)<br />

D’s: The <strong>Roswell</strong> Church’s franchise<br />

owner is in the process <strong>of</strong> remodeling the<br />

old Captain D’s on North Main Street and<br />

he has plans to be open for business at this<br />

location by July 31st. Progress is being<br />

made to meet the deadline.<br />

Alton’s Powerblock Gym: The building<br />

shell is constructed and the rough-in work<br />

should continue through July when the<br />

finish work should begin on the inside,<br />

then outside.<br />

Street & Virginia Ave.)<br />

The Branch Cabinetry & Classic<br />

Expressions by Sandi: This business,<br />

in the early stages <strong>of</strong> development will<br />

<strong>of</strong>fer a selection <strong>of</strong> cabinets, kitchens,<br />

interior design services and premium<br />

appliances by Wolf and Sub-Zero for the<br />

discriminating homeowner.<br />

(Located at 1400 North Kentucky Avenue)<br />

Giangrasso Shopping Plaza: Work<br />

includes demolition <strong>of</strong> buildings and<br />

reconstruction <strong>of</strong> the site. Construction<br />

plans have been submitted and a Building<br />

Permit will be issued when the contractor<br />

is determined, whereupon the demolition<br />

work can begin. Nothing new to report.<br />

Street and North Main Street)<br />

Elite Fitness Center: The building shell<br />

has been completed and the rough-in work<br />

has begun.<br />

(This is located on Atkinson Avenue, South <strong>of</strong><br />

Country Club Road)<br />

Town & Country Family Fun Center:<br />

This is the Bowling alley on SE Main.<br />

It will undergo interior alterations and<br />

additions to add family style attractions.<br />

The owner is reviewing bids to determine<br />

the successful contractor, so work can<br />

begin this summer. Nothing new to<br />

report.<br />

Strata Production Company Complex:<br />

The Phase-I <strong>of</strong>fice building has been<br />

completed and the owner has moved<br />

his old <strong>of</strong>fices into the new building.<br />

There are currently no tenants in line to<br />

develop the remaining phases <strong>of</strong> the total<br />

development. (This is located S. <strong>of</strong> Immanuel<br />

Lutheran Church on Sycamore Ave.)<br />

A <strong>New</strong> Hotel: A new hotel is in the<br />

planning stages <strong>of</strong> development on the<br />

West side <strong>of</strong> North Main Street, across<br />

from the new Hampton Inn Suites. The<br />

owner has received approval for financing<br />

and is negotiating between two national<br />

hotel chains. Nothing new to report.<br />

Candlewood Suites by I.H.G.: The<br />

Holiday Inn Express owners want to<br />

build a new 80 room extended living<br />

suites hotel with conference Board Room<br />

and facilities to accommodate 50 to 100<br />

people. The contract for purchase has<br />

been written and is being finalized. We<br />

should know more on the development<br />

schedule for construction by this August.<br />

to the N.M.M.I. Golf Course)<br />

A <strong>New</strong> Sonic Drive-Thru: The Sonic<br />

property has been purchased from the City<br />

on the south side <strong>of</strong> West 2nd Street and<br />

east <strong>of</strong> Monterey Shopping Center. We<br />

expect to see plans for a Building Permit<br />

any day now, so construction can begin<br />

this summer. Nothing new to report.<br />

West <strong>of</strong> Sunset)<br />

<strong>New</strong> Medical Office Building - III: This<br />

is in the planning stages for a new medical<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice building to mirror the <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

building caddy-corner to the hospital.<br />

Nothing new to report.<br />

(Located on S. side <strong>of</strong> Country Club directly east <strong>of</strong><br />

the <strong>New</strong> Medical Office Building - II)<br />

<strong>New</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Office Complex:<br />

The site is cleared and plans are being<br />

developed. This <strong>of</strong>fice complex will<br />

utilize the natural topography in the<br />

design. Nothing new to report.<br />

(This is located on the northwest corner <strong>of</strong> 12th<br />

Street and Richardson Ave.)<br />

1st National Bank Branch: The old<br />

building is gone and the site has been<br />

cleared for new construction. Bank<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficials say we should see activity on this<br />

site soon, now that they have finished the<br />

openings for two other new branches in<br />

<strong>New</strong> <strong>Mexico</strong>. Nothing new to report.<br />

(This is located on the Southwest corner <strong>of</strong> Berrendo<br />

Rd. and North Main Street)<br />

Featherstone Development Corp.: This<br />

organization demolished the old Navajo<br />

motel and F.O.P./Piggly-Wiggly grocery<br />

store on the northwest corner <strong>of</strong> 2nd<br />

Street and Union Avenue. The intent is<br />

to make this property more attractive to<br />

prospective developers. Nothing new to<br />

report.<br />

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS:<br />

7 new home Building Permits were issued<br />

in June, putting the number <strong>of</strong> homes<br />

under construction at 50. The Tijmor<br />

Subdivision goes to the July City Council<br />

for Final Plat approval to add 68 new<br />

residential lots to the <strong>Roswell</strong> market.<br />

90-Unit - Wilshire Gardens<br />

Apartments: The apartment pod<br />

foundations have been poured and the<br />

framing work is in progress. The building<br />

shells should begin taking shape by late
