international Conference
“Deal-Making in the New Energy World Order”
aNew Energy World Order has emerged as a result of historic oil price swings; shifts in rent and power and changing
relationships between ioCs, noCs, governments and service companies; and a global financial crisis of proportions
never previously seen. this conference will address the questions of “what lies ahead” for our industry and how the New
Energy World Order will change the type of deals the industry makes, the resource holders they pursue, the alliances which
are developed and the protections it will require to be successful in the ever changing energy world.
Chatham House Rule
The AIPN 2009 International Conference has invoked the
Chatham House Rule for Session 6 portion of the program,
“Strategies for Succeeding in an Evolving LNG Market: A Focus
on the Pacific Basin LNG Trade.”
The Chatham House Rule reads as follows:
"When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham
House Rule, participants are free to use the information received,
but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor
that of any other participant, may be revealed".
The world-famous Chatham House Rule may be invoked at
meetings to encourage openness and the sharing of information.
The Chatham House Rule originated at the Royal Institute of
International Affairs with the aim of guaranteeing anonymity to
those speaking within its walls in order that better international
relations could be achieved. It is now used throughout the world
as an aid to free discussion.
