A Dogfish!
Con and I are fishing for a shark.
A big shark. A blue shark.
A mean shark. We are tough!
We throw in the line.
Let’s try
a bone!
We fish and fish. We wait
and wait. We fish. We wait.
‘I’m bored,’ I say to Con.
‘Are you bored too?’
Con is bored.
I say, ‘Maybe there
are no sharks in the river.’
Con says, ‘Maybe sharks don’t
like bones.

Wrong Bait Again!
Con and I are fishing for a shark.
A big shark. A blue shark.
A mean shark. We are tough!
We throw in the line.
Let’s try
peanut butter.
But dog fish do!
Let’s try some other bait.’
