Logos has Welcome Back Backwards Night
for Children
in Kindergarten
through 6 th Grade

Noah’s Ark is off to a
great start! The crew is
ready to get sailing for a
year full of learning and
growing. Please keep us
in your prayers as we
embark on our journey.
We are thankful for each
and every child God has
entrusted to us.
I hope you have all decided to JUMP into
FPC and Logos this year! The Logos team
JUMP’d into our annual “Jumpstart” August
31 and what a great semester we have
planned! Our first official Logos begins
September 7 with the theme “thgin
sdrawkcab kcaB emocleW,” that is, “Welcome
Back backwards night”! Everyone
is encouraged to dress backwards and
walk backwards, and it’s rumored that
dinner will be served backwards!
Many of you know that Logos is our
mid-week ministry for children in kindergarten
thru 6 th grade. It bridges the gap
from Sunday to Sunday and serves to
build relationships among children,
adults and God. We meet weekly on
Wednesday from 4:45 - 7:15 p.m. to be in
community together.
Each week we have a theme and everyone
is encouraged, but not required,
to come dressed for the theme. All of the
children participate in a worship skills
class where they learn how to participate
in worship as well as how to make a “joyful
noise.” Our Logos Choir will be leading
in worship on Sunday, October 2, at
the 11 a.m. service.
Our dinner time is 5:30, when we all
come together to enjoy a family-style dinner
and game. Our wonderful dinners are
prepared by our amazing cook teams. We
have four cook teams that prepare our
meals once a month. These cook teams are
made up of wonderful volunteers, most
of whom do not have children in our program,
and one made up entirely of men!
After dinner, we break up into groups
by grade level for our Bible study class.
We have several amazing volunteers who
lead these classes. Here again, most do not
have children in the program.
We also have two nights a semester
called “Fifth Wednesday Fun,” and these
nights are all about building and strengthening
relationships! These nights are
theme-oriented and have ranged from
“Mad Science Night,” where the children
got to participate in hands-on experiments,
to “Wild Winter Olympics,” when
we held the Winter Olympics Logos-style.
As I have often said, “Logos is the most
fun you can have on a Wednesday Night,”
so if you are looking to JUMP into FPC
ministry this year, I encourage you to consider
Logos. We have a number of volunteer
opportunities that range from a
weekly commitment to a monthly commitment,
or even just special events. Contact
