The Orbital Trivia Quest was a venue
where technology was injected into
learning. The children decoded trivia
questions which upon completion, allowed
them to advance to the next level
as Galileo galactic astronauts. Street
performers scattered across the venue
mesmerized kids and adults alike with a
host of magic tricks. Sleights of hand and
illusions require concentration, skill, and
lots of practice and offer more than pure
entertainment. In each performance,
children are challenged to think outside
the box and break the codes to these
illusions.
Parents as Guiding Stars
It is with the parents’ constant support
that the young generation is inspired
to become the future leaders. Galileo
opened its doors to parents who were
interested in the program and what the
event had to offer. Celebrity parents
such as television personality Christine
Bersola-Babao and her husband, broadcaster
Julius Babao, as well as columnist
Tessa Prieto-Valdez together with their
children were present to show their
support for Galileo.
At the forum hosted by program
consultant Dr. Ophel Veniegas, celebrity
parents Christine Jacob-Sandejas,
Gilbert Remulla and Dimples Romana—whose
children are enrolled in the
Galileo program, shared their involvement
in their children’s education and
well-being, while managing their time as
parents and public personalities. They
