Designers of the future show off their ideas
THE bpma student design competition will
again be featured at the Trade Only National
Show.
The bpma achieved record entries for the
competition from Brunel University last year.
A new dynamic website has been created
by Pepagon and more sponsors have jumped
on board to support the growing event.
Existing sponsors Will International, Pepagon,
3M and B&H Colour Change are now
joined by SPS, Promo International and Alvastone.
Last year’s winner was Lauren Bickley
with the Capsule Wardrobe, which is going
into production as a prototype.
The headquarters of 3M provided the backdrop
for the final eight judging, in a “Dragons’
Den” style presentation format.
The winners were rewarded with cash prizes,
a design workshop, a tour and goody bag
from 3M.
Gordon Glenister, Director General of the
bpma, told PPD: “It has been a real team effort
to get this off the ground and when I see
how much Brunel and a number of people in
the industry have embraced this, it makes me
very proud.
“New and creative innovation is exactly
what helps inspire an industry.
“I would also like to help support some of
these students in finding careers in our market
and I would urge visitors and exhibitors
to come and see some of these great designs.”

A FIRST-TIME exhibitor

BOTTLE Promotions has
recently bought a new
high-tech screen printing
machine.
The company says that this has

improved the quality of its imprint
considerably.
A spokesman for the company
told PPD: “We could already print
full colour all round, but now the
imprint is of such quality that it
can be compared to digital print.
We have also lowered the minimum
order amount to 300 pcs.”

Terrible toll of dreaded man flu

will know all too well,
man flu can be particularly
lethal at this time
of year. Bio Laboratories,
who once again will be exhibiting
their products at the show,
say they have seen an upsurge in
man flu with the onset of winter –
but that has meant good news for
the company’s range of brandable
tissues and hand sanitisers.
