DESCRIPTION
Contec Binder S is a specially developed fast
setting and shrinkage compensated cement
based binder with extreme density and high
compressive strength compared to traditional
cementitous binders. Contec Binder S is
combining the latest cement / microparticle
technology with a totally new union of additives
which results in a binder which is fast setting
and has a very low shrinkage.
Mortars, grouts and concrete based on Contec
Binder S achieve properties way beyond the
possibilities of traditional cementitous binders.
USES
Contec Binder S is used as the binder component
for producing all Contec S type ready
mixed mortars for industrial flooring systems
as well as gunite mortars, repair mortars and
non shrink grouts. Contec Binder S is
combining a very high 5 hour strength (min.15
N/mm²) with a very high final strength.
Contec Binder S is perfectly suited for both
wire mesh and fibre reinforcement, which
significantly improves the properties of the mix.
RECEPIES
Before preparing your own mixes, based on
recepies with Contec Binder S, it is very
important that the quality and sieve analysis of
your local aggregates is tested together with
specialists, on this field, within the Contec
group of companies.Based on your local
aggregates we will be happy to make the first
trial mixes to investigate the possibilities.
TEST MIXES
It is very important to make test mixes of the
recepies given, before starting to make the
final mix on the building site. A lot of different
things influence the workability and properties
of the final material. Working with thin coatings
on industrial floors and concrete surfaces is a
difficult area, which is why the mix must be
functioning a 100%.
OTHER APPLICATIONS
Contec Binder S is also used as a primer coat
to improve bonding of vibrated granolithic
Contec S toppings to existing concrete.

CONSUMPTION
Depending on the wanted workability and properties
of the final mix an amount of 15 - 40%
of Contec Binder S is needed for a High
strength Mortar, grout or concrete.
When used as bonding agent or primer an
amount of 25 kg Contec Binder S combined
with water produces approx. 16 litres of ready
to use primer. 1 kg of Contec Binder S used as
primer coat covers app.1 m².
DELIVERY
Contec Binder S is supplied in:
25 kg bags on pallets of 750 kg, net weight.
1000 kg Big Bag, net weight on 1 pallet.
Bulk delivery in silo trucks or ship.

MIXING
Contec Binder S used as Primer is mixed in a
pan-type mixer or in a suitable container using
a fast speed drill with a suitable mixing paddle
for a minimum of 5 minutes until a
homogeneous mix is obtained.
Contec Binder S mixed with local sand and
stones must be mixed in an efficient pan-type
mixer to achieve the expected results.
Before you start mixing on the building site or
in the mixing plant please consult your local
Contec dealer or our office to discuss details.
STORAGE
Bags of Contec powder must be stored on
pallets in dry conditions. Under these conditions
the shelf life is max. 6 months.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Contec cementitious systems are non-toxic
and safe to use. However powder in contact
with water or moisture, produces a strong
alkaline solution. Protective gloves, clothing
and a dust mask should be worn when mixing
and applying the material.

The following properties are typical when using
Contec Binder S in combination with quarz,
basalt, granite or bauxite aggregates.
Compressive strength:
5 hours: 10 - 20 N/mm²
24 hours: 50 - 70 N/mm²
28 days: 90 - 130 N/mm²
Flexural strength:
28 days: 12 - 17 N/mm²
Settime:
At 20ºC:
60 - 150 minutes
Wear resistance:
DIN 52108: 3 - 9 cm³ / 50 cm²
Water permeability:
Very low compared to high quality concrete.
Freeze-thaw resistance:
Very good according to DIN-Norm.
Chemical resistance:
Very good compared to traditional cement.
