Hillier led a team of parking structure experts,
real estate market analyst, and traffic engineers
to create a master plan. The document includes
concept plans for designing, constructing,
financing, maintaining and operating the facility.
An implementation plan is also part of the
overall feasibility study and address as roles and
responsibilities for moving the project forward.
Key recommendations and program
components included:
• SEPTA station upgrade with high-level
platforms
• Structured and surface parking for 700 cars
• Parking for commuters and shoppers
• Mixed-use garage with 18,000 gsf or retail
space
• Preservation of historic train station
• New town green with farmer's market
• Adaptive reuse of the historic Roberts Building
• Pedestrian connections across the rail line
Purpose Of Master Plan:
1. To develop a conceptual design of the
proposed Glenside Station Parking Structure
that is in the best interest of the community
2. To develop strategic recommendations for
revitalization of the Glenside commercial
district
3. To develop reuse strategies and concepts for
the historic Roberts Block
