Infants
THRASS
Infants raised money on our Open Day and now Years 1 and 2 have their own giant THRASS mat in their
classrooms. We have another to aim for now to go in the Kindergarten room.
Vanuatu
Thank you to those parents who have already contributed goods for our Vanuatu Dinner auction. We are still
happy to receive donations of items for prizes or silent auctions to be held on the night. If you are able to help
please contact Mrs Mawer on 9529 8405.
Chickens
Sadly we say goodbye to our chicks!
Each Kindergarten class has had ten healthy chicks chirping away each day in their classroom. By some
statistical quirk, 5 black and 5 yellow chicks have hatched in each room.
The children held them while they had a photo taken.
“I liked them getting out from the egg” Joey Hardjoprandoto
Our Excursion to Calmsley Hill Farm
Year 1 children visited Calmsley Hill City Farm. Here are some of their recounts of the day
The other week,
Year 1 went to
Calmsley Hill Farm.
When we got there,
we had recess, then
we had a tractor
ride. I liked going
up and down. We
patted the animals
and they were soft. Then we
went to milk a cow. After lunch
we saw whip cracking. It was
loud! Then we saw Marly round
up sheep. Last we saw sheep
shearing. I really enjoyed the
farm. Luke Laurikainen
I went on a bus to the farm.
First we had recess. After, we
saw the farmers and a rabbit
and some sheep. Then we
milked a cow and had lunch.
After lunch we watched the
whip show and the sheep dog
show. Then we saw the sheep
being sheared. I had a good
day! Dimitri Augerinos
Year 1 went
to the farm.
When we got
there we ate
some food
and went on
a tractor ride
and it was fun. The tractor
ride was fast. Then we got
to pat some animals and
some of them were soft. We
also got to milk a cow, which
was fun. After lunch we saw
three shows which were whip
cracking, a sheep dog show
and shearing of a sheep. I
liked the farm. Jeremy Ko
Year 1 went on a bus to go to the farm. First we had recess and then we saw a kitten and some chicks, goats and
sheep. Then we saw a cow and some pigs. I like the tractor ride the best. We had lunch and then we saw the
whip cracking show and Marly the dog rounded up sheep. The lady sheared a sheep for us. That was the best
day ever. Rachel Clayton
