PRESIDENT’S
MESSAGE
The school year 2011-2012 marked our second
full year in our permanent home. With
a year of getting to know our new building
behind us, the Board of Trustees shifted its
focus from bricks and mortar to long-term
sustainability. We will be following a roadmap
that is consistent with our values as an institution
and that will enable us to continue our
commitment both to excellence and to making
a Rashi education available to the diverse
community that makes Rashi, Rashi.
Like all institutions, Rashi is dependent upon
its leaders. The members of our Board of
Trustees, the faculty and staff, and those
who serve as volunteers in myriad capacities
can count themselves among this group.
Leadership at Rashi is a collective effort, in
the spirit of Jethro, that involves the Board,
the faculty and staff, Yachad, donors, parent,
grandparent and community volunteers and
many, many others.
As I conclude my term as President of the
Board, I would like to thank Dr. Matt King and
the members of the Executive Committee,
with whom I have worked in deep partnership
these past two years. It was a privilege
to serve with you.
I am so pleased that the Board has unanimously
elected David Aronoff to serve as
Rashi’s next President. David, a parent of
two Rashi graduates, is a superb leader with
a deep commitment to the school. He will
be supported as President by a strong and
thoughtful Executive Committee that includes
some new faces alongside some veteran
leaders and, of course, by the full Board.
As I look at the team that will lead Rashi going
forward, I am filled with joy and anticipation
for all that will come.
