Birthing Doula<br />
<strong>Women</strong> have unique physical <strong>and</strong> emotional needs<br />
during childbirth. In addition to the safety of your<br />
modern obstetrical care team, <strong>and</strong> the love <strong>and</strong><br />
companionship provided by your partner, women<br />
need consistent, continuous reassurance; com<strong>for</strong>t;<br />
encouragement; <strong>and</strong> respect. A doula is a woman<br />
who supports the birthing mother <strong>and</strong> her partner<br />
throughout labor <strong>and</strong> delivery to help her have a<br />
more satisfying birthing experience.<br />

This course details all the basics of newborn care <strong>for</strong><br />

bath products, diapering, cord care, temperature-taking,<br />
dressing, sleep patterns, <strong>and</strong> pediatrician intervention<br />
are some of the topics covered. A <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> pediatrician<br />

Inner Visions: <strong>Family</strong> Bonding Using 3D/4D Ultrasound<br />
Kraft <strong>Center</strong><br />

Studies have shown that bonding through ultrasound provides an opportunity to involve<br />
the family in the birth process from the beginning. <strong>The</strong> course involves an educational<br />
class designed to teach families about the importance <strong>and</strong> significance of ultrasound in<br />
pregnancy. Following the classroom discussion, each family will be given a personal 3D/4D<br />
ultrasound bonding experience. Upon class completion you will receive a CD-ROM with<br />
images taken during your session <strong>and</strong> six 3 X 4 black <strong>and</strong> white prints <strong>for</strong> your enjoyment.<br />
Please enroll by your 22nd week of pregnancy. Best viewing times are between 24 <strong>and</strong> 28<br />
weeks of pregnancy. Siblings are welcome.<br />

Breastfeeding Basics<br />

This class explores the advantages <strong>and</strong> benefits of<br />
breastfeeding <strong>and</strong> discusses nutrition, positions<br />
that are com<strong>for</strong>table, common problems, pumping<br />
<strong>and</strong> storage of breast milk, <strong>and</strong> correct use of the<br />
breast pumping equipment. Dads are encouraged<br />
to attend.<br />
Class should be taken during the 8th month<br />
of pregnancy.<br />

We offer private lactation consultations by<br />
