2. Segment reporting<br />
<strong>Comptel</strong> operates globally in all geographical<br />
market areas. Geographical market areas<br />
differ from each other in terms of price level,<br />
competitive position and <strong>Comptel</strong>´s own<br />
resource investments. <strong>Comptel</strong> has only<br />
one segment, a geographical segment. The<br />
segment division is based on the geographical<br />
location of customers. Geographical<br />
market areas are Europe, America, Middle<br />
East and Africa and Asia-Pacific. Segment<br />
information reported on these four main<br />
segments covers revenue, operating profit,<br />
depreciation and amortization, assets and<br />
liabilities as well as capital expenditure. Segment<br />
expenses include sales and customer<br />
service expenses. Unallocated expenses<br />
relate to product management, research and<br />
development as well as to administration<br />
units. Segment assets and liabilities include<br />
current trade receivables, prepayments<br />
and accrued income, current liabilities and<br />
property, plant and equipment directly<br />
attributable to the segments. Unallocated<br />
assets consist of cash and cash equivalents,<br />
tax assets, prepayments and accruals and<br />
goodwill. Unallocated liabilities comprise<br />
tax liabilities, accrued expenses, provisions<br />
and other current liabilities.<br />
